🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We’re a DIY family building our “forever homestead” from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today’s video we let you know we bought a new tractor! We have a 2023 Massey Ferguson 1825 E compact tractor with the FLX 2407 loader. We also put our tractor to work using the loader bucket to spread the 23 tons of 3/4″ stone for our gravel driveway. We use the tractor to widen our driveway and make our driveway turnaround from one vehicle width into two vehicles wide. We also use the loader to back blade or scrape the driveway smooth as well as our King Kutter 5′ rear scrape blade to smooth everything out. Let’s go!

Congratulations on the new tractor.
I am so very happy for you two. Congratulations you deserve it totally.
Oh hell yeah nice y'all have a great day 😊
Box scraper. So easy even I can use one to level out dirt or gravel.
First time using a loader you did a fine job… If I can suggest anything always strip the topsoil where you want to put your gravel get down to the sub-grade… Makes for a better parking spot and driveway… I do this for a living 👍
The wife runs our tractor… And it is nice to see.. probably had 15 different tractors and our marriage and she has ran them all… The wife still got her favorite 60 horse international.. but we have our primary 35 horse cab Kubota.. PS I like your new tractor. Great video
Nearly 47 years ago i was 12. My neighbor had two tractors, a red Massey Ferguson without a cabin – or front hydraulics- and a Deutz with a cabin. The Massey Ferguson was the first vehicle in my life i drove at age 12. I had to jump on the clutch because when i tried to push it down, i could stand on it and it wouldnt budge. So i had to jump on it.
It's usually a good idea to lay down weed block fabric or 6mil plastic etc. The grass and weeds will grow right up through the gravel without it. Just my experience.
You would love that tractor even more if you would turn in that Box blade in and get your close in box blade. Google how to back drag with the front loader or bucket.

You will be very happy with your massey ferguson. I have been a mf tractor person for a long time they are hard to beat.
Nice tractor
the iconic turtle and rabbit!! My grandparents had a MF and I grew up (and learned to drive tractors) on that old bad boy! Memories!
You will find tons of uses for that tractor and loader. It will save you time. It will pay for itself. Congratulations on a good purchase.
You need a tractor Massey Ferguson is an old name brand
Congratulations on the new tractor Sam and Angela
Great video Sam and Angela
Great job spreading gravel Sam
Great job Angela driving the tractor
So cool!! Enjoy !!
Just a suggestion – instead of using your blade to smooth the gravel, use some chain link fabric (10 or 15 ft long) attached to 2×4 and about as wide as your tractor. The benefit being when your tractor goes over a hump or into a dip there is not a resulting hump or dip in your work. Result is very quick and professional looking. Enjoy your channel!
I have learned that if you lay the bucket flat on the ground and tilt it more so the blade is doing the back dragging instead of the rear of the bucket, The blade is made of hardened steel and replaceable, where-as the bucket cost a lot more than the blade on front.. Just a word of advice. Also; have you heard about a land plane? They work great in leveling a stone drive like in your video.
For gardening, I would recommend a tiller for the Massy, I had one for my tractor, and it is hands down the best for getting a garden ready in spring, also in putting the garden to bed for winter with fertilizer and rye grass. Not sure of your area, but I used chicken manure twice a year, once in spring and tilled in with the rye, and once in the fall for the winter garden and rye.
