Yes, after moving from TX to Alaska I am glad I kept my some of my craft stuff. They are nice to have for when the grandkids come over. And of course the gardening materials too!!!!! They enjoy watching the seeds and plants grow and are learning so much along with me!
Kitty napping in the background 🙂
What color gray is on your wall? Love it!
Gotta love the fan "dancing" to the beat during the clean-up portion. 🤗 And more importantly, though our messes are bigger in our various garden storage and prep areas, I feel like we are "in good company" if y'all have such mixed and need-attention areas!
Our snow is just rearranging itself here due to the high winds but no new snow. Yes! They say we are going to have a lot of run off when the snow melts.
I have a fig tree that’s about 12-15 ft tall here in England, it was just a cheap one from a supermarket so I doubt it’s a hardy cultivar and has survived a few of the cold winters we’ve had although this year I am noticing some winter die back for the first time. We don’t do zones here in England but where I am equates to zone 8a. Would you consider growing a hardy one outside in the landscape once you have more protection? I know you don’t like fruit trees in the landscape but the fruits on mine are persistent and attract butterflies ! (And wasps 😩)
Last year we did magnolia peas here. Their blooms were just beautiful! I plan to use them again. I will have to get some butterfly peas!
Hi, The shelf where you put the cameras and lenses is wrong. It can be damaged there.
Just curious, can you write off the Hartley and the big trees and all your supplies as business expenses on your taxes?
So glad you mentioned Kyle @ Urban Farmstand! He is local to my area and love his videos.
I envision you having a tea party or science experiment with the kids. Butterfly Pea tea is blue and when you add lemon it turns purple! It is pretty and really doesn’t have much of a flavor.
The studio looks great! Could you or Aaron possibly do a video on good beginner equipment for garden videos? My partner and I are doing some house are landscaping renos and would like to document our progress.
Mike Kincaid is also good for help with doing cuttings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LymBdzprYJ4
QUESTION. Did you love playing in the dirt as a child?
I completely agree about clean spaces before the growing season. (Same for the Holidays) It makes my mind more at peace as the hectic of planting comes. Your space looks amazing and yeah for Aaron's new desk.
Did we get to see all those figs you mention?
Could u do a video on the indoor plantcare? Your pothos look amazing 🤩
Sweet! Aaron is going to feel special.
Inside clean up always a great project when the weather is crappy outside. 👍
Just a thought but if you have very high humidity would it be wise to store your camera and lenses somewhere else, they really won't like it with all that extra moisture 🤔👍
Laura you can make the best cocktails with butterfly pea syrup and they are a beautiful purple!!!
I've received super info from Garden Answers, however I recently transition to an environmental friendly and responsible gardening by reducing the use of plastic packaged soils, fertilizers, amendments, plastic seed trays and pots. Laura is very talented but she does not advocate environmentally conscience gardens.
I bought liquid rooting hormone and it went bad. and ? off, after sitting in the shed for not very long. I will only get the powder one from now on.
Air circulation is critical when using self watering systems in a small closed interior space, because fungus gnats and algae love moisture. I lost ten African violet plants to fungus gnats due to watering in.a self watering pot. The home environment is very different than planting in a large greenhouse.
Put seeds on top shelf and put sprays and liquid things below camera equipment. Just in case of spill. 😮just a thought!!
Hi, love one's!🥰
Love watching your video 👍😀
The video is full of important events! So many necessary things have again found their place in this room and will help you again! I hope the figs will soon show the first roots!
Please move the camera equipment to the top shelf and the spray bottles below. One leak would be costly. That being said, would you like to come organize my sewing/craft room? You do good work.
Hey Laura! I plant butterfly pea flowers every summer. I tried planting earlier and also during the summer, it will all come up at around the same time. Very late but it will show up. We use the flowers for a lot of Southeast Asian desserts. Just wanted to let you know to be patient with it. When it starts to grow, it takes off like crazy
What brilliant yellow pots, I want some. Therapeutic episode. Chilled me out nicely.
I want to plant butter fly peas what state or zone are you in
Laura, I laughed when I heard you describe the weather as… "it's grey and squishy out there". I thought, just once, I would love to hear a weather forecaster say those exact words!🤣😂🤣
I've been watching for years. You've been inspiring this 70+ year old to try new things in my very loved gardens. You amaze me with your energy, great attitude and best of all common sense! I lost my husband eight months ago and after being together for 50+ years, I think I would have lost my grip, if I hadn't become even more obsessed with growing plants. This is my third year starting seed trays and I've become a flower seed-a-holic! I am really excited to try new plants that have a chance in my Sierras climate! Right now my cabin looks like a mad scientist lives here with seed trays, racks and grow lightsin the kitchen and my laundry's washer and dryer covered in plants and lights…and right now I am looking at feet of snow! I always talk about you to friends and famiy, and they know you as my guru! I thought it would be good for you to know your effect on this oldster retired schoolmarm and that I think you are one hell of a teacher!
Urban farmstead is awesome!
Tell us the truth Laura! You just stacked all of your “stuff” in heaps, out in the adjacent garage!! 😉😉😄
