EASY RAISED BED Vegetable Garden in Totes Storage Container & Buckets & Food Grade Types of Plastics



Safe for use with food are the number codes in the triangle under a bucket or storage container, is usually 2 or 5. Raised beds using Plastic containers for growing and storing food, buy code numbers 2, 4 and 5 only, 1 is okay, but they quickly break down within a year from the sun, where the others can last for many years. Keep in mind, you are not even store food in them, as we are watering them, or rain is falling and things are moving through these containers, and the microbes and earthworms thrive beautifully in them.

    I'm curious. there's no way 2 people can eat all the food you grow. what do you do with all the food? your container garden is such an inspiration for me. last year I grew in free ice cream buckets and dishpans from the dollar store. I got enough food I was able to share. so, thanks so much for all the great ideas.

    I cut the bottoms out of felt pots and placed them along a fence, then I planted blackberries and raspberries in them. The soil is good but full or rocks and tree roots. Next spring, when they are fully rooted in the ground, i can pull off the felt pots and use them again. Thanks for the videos and ideas!

    I have some Styrofoam boxes n plant something in it. But now i have to protect the exterior coz the cat been scratching on it leaving some loose Styrofoam flying all around. Am thinking of wrapping it with old towel or t-shirt soak in wet cement n the sun will hardened it. Tqsm Robbie for sharing your gardening make easy.

    Our soil sucks. You have inspired me to do this to the raised beds I have made. It can only help improve them some more. I have raised beds with dead tree material in the bottom and soil from the property on top. Applying this method as well is going to be implemented this year. Thanks for being an inspiration! I am really excited to do this.

    Can I use the clear storage totes from Lowe's? They are put out by project source, but they don't specify on the bottom what grade they are. 5 or 2 ect..

    You mentioned people carrying cases of water in the trunk of their cars and how the heat breaks down the plastic.

    I'll bet people aren't carrying extra weight in their cars now, with our current gas ptices!🤯⛽💰
