    Great update Ivan, everything is looking good in the greenhouse, sorry you lost the chinese cabbage. Thanks for the heads up on compost and fertiliser, will be going to Wilko and home bargains tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

    Personally, I wouldn't risk changing to a different compost to save 3 pound. Especially if you've tried and tested a compost with no problems for years

    Hi, great advise, thank you. Just a note – you can get Gro-sure , multipurpose compost 3 x 50ltr bags for £12 at B&M( the ones that has a garden centre). Looking forward on feedback on the Wilko compost, if it is any good, £9 for 3x50ltr bags sound’s definitely like a bargain 👍

    I used that gro-sure all last year and thought it was alright 🙂 have changed this year to one that the range are stocking (J Arthur bowers one in red packaging) which is 100L for £9 or 2 bags for £15. Have dispersed 600L around the garden so far and have only found one piece of metal in total through all the bags so I'm pleased with that 😁

    My local Homebase is closing down so I've been grabbing whatever I can from there. Got a bag or 2 of compost, but no where near the value you've been getting! Our local Wilkos is in a shopping centre, so it wouldn't be easy to carry 3 bags of compost back to the car. I'll be looking in Home Bargins for the other stuff, and I'm planning a trip to Poundland next weekend!
    Please keep the suggestions coming, your UK specific recommendations are very much appreciated!

    Have you thought about buying compost in bulk ton bags? Meant to be cheaper overall

    I am using my own homemade compost this year it’s taken nearly a year and a half to make but worth it to make my compost last longer I v been buying coco coir blocks add water and it expands to 10 litres to save compost
