  1. Hi Darrel…seed saving and heirloom rule.!..Happy growing from the uk and hi to Kate…I'm a late bloomer too..!!..💚🌱🙏..love your channel and your inspiration…keep going lass.!!🙏😍

  2. Just watched Adapt 2030s' latest episode. He reported that an heirloom seed warehouse has been burnt down – just like the food plants. More intentional destruction of the food supply. It's never been more important to save seeds.

  3. I'd give almost anything to have seeds from my Grandma's garden most specifically her Muscadine grapes!! My Uncle inherited the old homeplace in NC and for whatever reason tore out the grapes😪. Not sure if there's any volunteers out there and I'm sure Uncle isn't the least bit interested in looking!!

  4. I have just begun my Heirloom Planting process. Very informative. That is one thing my parents never taught me about Heirloom and saving seeds from the best plants. I have had a had a garden for the last 60 Years.

  5. Great episode, you are 100% correct Darrell open pollinated and heirloom, varieties are the best way to go hands-down! nice, work to you both and happy early birthday Kaye 🎉 my birthday is today you must be a fellow Aquarius?

  6. Now I know why many of my store bought starts did not do good. I use manure in all beds. 2 ponies.🙏😀🐎. I did not fertilise much, assuming they had enough but apparently not. Cooking takes twice as long when saving seeds( suck it up cupcake)😀 Im thankful to see so much interest in gardening.. im only in year 4. . No way on eatz z bugs. Thank you Kaye for bringing us mr wise garden man. Thank you Mr. Luck🙏😀👍( btw. Im glad he uses plastic bags. That is what I do and thought it was wrong as most use paper)

  7. Very informative. I learned a lot about seeds. I sure would love to buy luck sweet corn seeds. I’ve been growing my family’s fava beans that my dad brought from Italy that his great grandparents grew when he was growing up in Calabria

  8. Those bean varieties look outstanding. Very cool, Darrell.! I have developed a open pollinated, sweet corn myself, and I’m working on some different varieties of flour corn. I just like to add when you’re developing a sweet corn not only like you said, saving the larger better looking ears of corn, if you like a sweeter corn, try to individually pick out the kernels, off that same, ear. The more shriveled, like a raisin, the higher, the sugar content, and that most definitely will carry onto the next generation. Great job guys. 👍

  9. Great video and so informative. Thanks Darrell for sharing your knowledge and experience on so many different seed varieties. Love the bamboo trellis too. Blessings..

  10. Thank you Darrell!
    Love, love snow peas!
I need to make a bamboo trellis! My granddaughter bought a house with tons of bamboo in the backyard!!
    Happy Birthday my friend!!!❤

  11. This was FANTASTIC, thank you so much!! It's so great to see someone sharing their knowledge for free. At this point in the game, I'm so tired of people who want you to sign up for some "workshop." We should all be locking arms & helping each other as much as possible without expecting to be "paid." Thank you again!🙏💜

  12. Hello 👋 there kaye and Darrell, petie too..thankyou so much great video, make a great team, so pleasant ant easy to listen too and keep up..very helpful. Thankyou for that,do take great care,.thankyou so much kaye xxbless you, hugs 🤗 and prayers 🙏

  13. Nice presentation, Darrell. Glad you stressed the attention and bookkeeping needed to pull off good seed saving. I'd be interested in which veggies you just don't get good production from growing heirloom. For example, heirloom tomatoes tend to produce much less than hybrids. I always grow a few heirloom/op but my workhorses are hybrids.

  14. Hello smart and beautiful, let me just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY 😇🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷, you are truly the twelfth rose, keep smiling 🇺🇸☕

  15. Hi Kaye, Great video!! So informative!! Many thanks to Darrell for sharing all his knowledge with us. I am so happy that I have a lot of heirloom seeds to grow. It's amazing how well plants from heirlooms grow. And how tasty the vegetables are!! Thank you so much for all that you – and Darrell – share! It's always a joy to see the two of you in videos together!! Love, Mary

  16. Heirloom seed are the best on the earth as they are not GMO modified seeds….I only use Heirloom seeds and I save my seeds every year seasonally so they become climatized to grow better in my zone. ❤

  17. Truly enjoy watching you and Darryll. Seed saved for the first time last fall. Now the struggle is what kind of soil to get for seed starting. Any idea's? I have tomato seeds that have been saved from an heirloom tomato 32 years ago. I am so excited! Last year garden I spent $77.00 for plants and starts. My garden has supplied me with onions, potatoes, carrots….well to cut it short….groceries ALL YEAR! Only need the store for milk and butter and flour. Not bad for a $77.00 investment. I plan on bringing that to ZERO this year. Hoss is a front runner but not sure. Thanks Darryll. What a great friend. Have you ever shared how you two met?

  18. Did you know that the "govt" has a HUGE seed vault? Every kind of seed/plant that has ever been grown.
