  1. Hi Claire,

Garden plans sound great, just a word of warning re compost seed compost is The way to go, Wilkos sell reasonable size bags on offer at the moment two for £4 it really makes a difference to end result as the compost is finer thus easier to grow through. Also Roma tomatoes aren’t really for eating in a row state, they’re grown for their paste value i.e. tomato purée the UK great for cooking and sauces but as I say not really a salad tomato that’s what you’re looking to grow?

    😊

  2. Yes please to seeing you do your gardening. I am so looking forward to getting my seedlings started, next week I am going to be cleaning my greenhouse and sorting out the garden ready for planting.

  3. I'm going to try the yellow summer squash in a large bin this year. I have squash bugs in the gardens and they die. Hopefully this year I'll get some. And what great deals on the meat haul.

  4. I’m amazed at those reductions. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make these VERY interesting videos

  5. Lettuce seeds? Make great salads plus it is great on sandwiches. The ground beef looks great! That same package would be $5 plus here in America 🇺🇸. Your meat is so cheap. Sirloin and ribeye steaks here are $11 to $13/lb

  6. I love your videos, Claire. That was an amazing low-cost food haul; looking forward to your gardening videos!

  7. Wow what fab reductions you got! I love it when that happens. I’m so excited to see your garden this year!

  8. Thank you Claire a nice mix of things I hope the loaf turned out well ?yes it did look a little dry whole wheat does take a little more water than normal flour I have found I am just trying to master the sour dough starter I have now found rye flour seems to be the best to get it going .I'm looking forward to getting in the garden I did some small raised beds which I brought from b&q as i only have a small garden but I had a few bits also I did the cardboard box method of growing potatoes it was very successful so will be doing it this year. Have a great week .x

  9. Yes please Claire, I love the idea of a no dig garden.
Living in Northern Ireland we don’t have Morrisons and overall food here is more expensive. There doesn’t seem to be much in the reduced section and what there is is only reduced by a few pence – literally, it’s better to pay full price!
I’ve had no luck growing tomatoes or courgettes, it’s too cool and damp here, but life is good.

  10. You struck gold there with your deals, some huge price reductions there. Hoes your food storage coming along ?

  11. Thank you Claire! Love UK shopping hauls. Love your channel great content. Interested in your garden Claire , hope everything grows well for you🇦🇺🦘💜🍀

  12. If you are short of ground space you can plant lettuce in hanging baskets or if you can get hold of some House guttering you can attach to fence or a wall also helps to keep slugs off .

  13. You got some wonderful bargains Claire 😊 esp the bread sauce. I was fortunate to get one on the weekend I went to the equivalent here of Poundland they had the natural laundry detergent we use for $1 (which is 0.57 pence) I got a box full (I did leave some for others though 😊). In it goes in the stockpile cupboard. I will have enough for quite some time.

  14. Whole wheat flours need extra water and extra rise time (tips from a professional baker….me…)

  15. Store your yeast in the freezer ☺️ It’s useable straight from the freezer as it doesn’t actually freeze but makes it last longer expiration wise and prevent it from “dying”

  16. I loved the mish mash idea. I use it myself a lot of the time as it keeps it lively. Not sure if everyone agrees but I like it.

  17. If you really want to save money on groceries, try buying less meat and some plant based meals. Its easier on your pocket book, healthy for you, and better for the environment.

There are now 8 billion of us on the planet, and if we want a healthy planet for future generations, we all need to do our part and reduce meat consumption.

  18. I live in South Africa… I see your grapes were marked at GBP2.75… I paid ZAR16.99 which is about GBP0.80 for 500g.. this was not a reduced price… grapes are in season here now
We do not get that kind of price reduction on our meat… lean beef mince is about ZAR95.00 per kg about GBP4.50
Glad you were able to get those reduced price articles… it makes a big difference to the amount of money you have left to buy extra items for your food stash
