To grow bitter gourd at home, you will need to start with seeds or seedlings. The seeds can be planted in seed trays or directly in the garden bed, about 1/4 inch deep and about 2-3 inches apart. Bitter gourd prefers a warm and humid climate, and well-drained soil with a pH between 6 and 7. The plant should be trained to climb a trellis or support, as it is a climbing vine. Water the plants regularly, but be careful not to over-water as this can lead to fungal diseases. Bitter gourd fruits will start to form about 50-60 days after planting and will be ready to harvest in about 2-3 months.
