Use of Artificial Intelligence in Gardening and Landscaping.
ChatGPT and gardening.
Use your mobile phone.

With the subject of the use of Artificial Intelligence and the future of humans becoming more commonplace, we asked ChatGPT to write something for this video. ChatGPT (GPT being short for Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a type of language model developed by OpenAI. It is trained on a massive amount of text data, allowing the model to
generate human-like text on a wide range of topics.

In this episode we’ll discuss the three main uses of artificial intelligence in gardening as suggested by ChatGPT.

Let’s get into it.

One potential use for ChatGPT in gardening is to assist with generating planting schedules or care instructions for specific plants. For example, it can generate a list of recommended plants for a specific micro-climate or soil type, or it can come up with customized care instructions for a specific type of plant, such as how much water and fertilizer to use, or when to prune it.

Another potential use for ChatGPT in gardening can be as an aid for garden design. The AI model can assist in developing a blueprint, by suggesting different types of plants that would thrive together. It can recommend plants that would be suitable for the climate of the area. And also assist in listing plants and flowers that look good together.

Additional applications for ChatGPT would be for generating gardening-related content, such as blog posts, articles or in our case with this episode the AI created the foundation of the talking points of this episode. It can be used to generate how-to guides, reviews of gardening products, or even fiction or poetry inspired by the gardening topic.

ChatGPT is not an autonomous AI. It needs input (for now) from us, humans,so it can create text.
For example ChatGPT created the following blog when we asked it to write about Raised Bed Gardening in the US Gulf Coast.

Overall, ChatGPT can be a useful tool for anyone interested in gardening, whether they are a professional gardener, a hobbyist, or someone who wants to start a small garden at home. With its ability to process large amounts of data and generate human-like content, ChatGPT can be a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their gardening knowledge and skills.
