It must be hard not to jump on that snow machine and just blast off and get lost regularly was going to ask if the barrels were for foam packing and you answered for me
Your lighting looks good. I put LEDs in my shop when it was built several years ago. It is very bright compared to other spaces I've seen. But, I still find that I want more light where I'm working.
Super job, all coming together nicely. It takes time to get there but you are getting it done in record time. Amazing effort and focus. Well done.
Beautiful and Efficient Operation is coming so fast! I know it will help you so much be more profitable and cause you to endure less stress!
👍👍👍💙💛❤ BUCURESTI–ROMANIA 💙💛❤👍👍👍
Been watching your awesome vids for a while now , just curious Matt , your heritage is from Gozo or Malta ? just asking as a maltese american myself .
Great Job Matthew on setting-up ur barn.. You told me that u have a gift for me. I got scammed two times going on telegrams, so i stop doing it.
The only problem with radiant heat is once you’ve had it, you’ll never want to go without it again 😂
Shop looks awesome. You should consider covering the foam. It is extremely flammable and if it gets lit, it will spread rapidly.
Please make "tiny space" furniture that has multi-purpose. I.e. chair,/table/storage bench combo.
Really coming together Matt, awesome stuff! 😃👍🏻👊🏻 …. I wonder if some up firing spot lights would reflect off of the ceiling and help to further brighten the Barn? 🤔
I need more lights in my shop. I have 9 5,000 lumen light bars in my 750 sq ft shop. I have the lights centered over the work surfaces but anything that isn't horizontal is hard to see.
love the hot takes.
Those racks are as weak as a pesnuts unless they are bolted to the concrete.
looks like you need a bigger shop,,
So Matt, do you have a name of your business?
Very impressive business model Matty. Really appreciate how you’re sharing your thought process and your successes and challenges. Fair play and the very best of luck moving forward.
Maybe I missed it, but if all that wood is in there drying and you have radiant heating, is there anything you're doing for humidity control? Is that not an issue? Great stuff man!
I would like to know your strategy for staying organized. What is your system for inventory, planning and such? Not only in the woodworking side but also in the video making. Watching the flashbacks to when you first milled the trees made me think about this. Knowing the thousands of hours you must have of content how do you keep up with it all?
You should consider extra lighting in areas where you do your work like the packing area. When I worked for a dealership they had extra lights run along the walls at 5ft just above the work benches at a 45* angle down towards the benchtops for detailed work and standard lights on the ceiling so people wouldn't fall over their own feet. Remember the lights aren't dim their just too far away from the work area when mounted to the ceiling.
May I ask you to post a link for the lighting you use?
thanks
Renting vs owning. Rent is totally deductible. Owning is on a depreciation schedule. Considering half of the businesses fail it is really nice to not get stuck with the ongoing costs of real estate. From experience I felt I could focus more on the business and less on 30 yrs of overhead with renting.
ever thot of hiring a few kids from the congo? Elon Musk pays 1 dollar a day to black kids to dig in holes for the material for his batteries.. only 500 people die every week from collapsing tunnels. nothing the west would be interested in but they all profit from this black death so why look closer at it? anyways you could use a hand maybe even a person with one arm..
You didn’t have to move snow today.
Excellent progress Matt 👍😎
Hey Matt, what's your strategy for tool usage between your disparate locations; house, barn, new barn, shop, etc? Do you have a traveling bag of your most common tools or do you have a couple of sets of duplicates of the most useful ones? I'm dealing with a similar situation with the start of a home remodel and having all my tools put away in their place in the shop and then still having to do projects for my wife in the barn.
Hi Matt, from accross the pond in the UK. Just wondering when we shall be seeing more of the house coming together ? I know you have been very busy with your new " Playroom " for the past few weeks/months but I can only presume you have a very very very patient and long suffering 'Better Half ' ???.
Very jealeous of the new playroom . You can never have enough room or space to be available.
Best wiches from over here to all. Regards Jim R
Matt, are you going to cover the walls with metal panels/white or at least put 1/4” ply with an anti static paint? Seems like if you do a lot of work causing saw dust flying around the insulation is going to look grungier than need be🤔
Great video – killing two birds, one stone: cleaning up and answering questions. It’s fun to see the mind of Matt work through your jobs.
Question: Do you write down you “Do list” or do you just have a fair idea about what you want to accomplish and just get after it?
24:45 Dude! Put a coaster under that can!
Do you make all those parts!
When you build your porch, if you build another matching porch on the back side too, you could park all your equipment back there out of site and off of your floor space.
I've worked for large international companies that will only lease property for various business and legal reasons. Even small privately owned companies will "rent" from another company/person/dba/llc that is most of the time, the person who owns the company. One company only owns the property it is on in one location because years ago the original company they bought and absorbed was all-in-one, and the site is a typical old chemical plant that has a lot of clean-up associated with it. As they "own" the problems, they have to continue to own the land, and will, if they ever move all operations and allow a neighboring company to move in (it would like more space), have to continue to own the property for liability/EPA reasons.
Digital sensors have such great low light abilities so what we see is often misleading, great job of showing actual light levels by setting the exposure and going to the home shop. Very smart 🙂
Walio the whole shop looks beautiful man!!!
