Why? Because they are mopheads, (h macrophylla) and they make their flower buds during the past summer for next year’s blooms. Totally expecting the flower buds to be killed with our run of Christmas weekend low temperatures.

On the upside, our pests will dive deep and NOT be plotting their attacks all winter on my garden as they have been known to do during milder years…

But today, 😭😭😭 crying in my coffee about hydrangeas…
