I guess it had to happen…still it comes as a surprise somehow…this last garden tour, or ‘Wednesday Walkabout’ as we have dubbed it. Admittedly, hard, and harder still as I see signs of spring bulbs poking out their heads, seeds germinating and perennials putting out rosettes of new growth. I’ve always said that the house I could leave, but the garden? I guess there’s no turning back now, though! Forward march to a new garden in a new place in a new home. One that hopefully will become every bit as magical as the garden at the fairytale house.

I have watched your show for the past two years, and since Covid, I have been largely home bound because of my compromised immune system – it has often been the highlight of my day. You and the home you have created for your family and friends has inspired me in more ways than I can list here. But most importantly is your outlook and philosophy of life. I am so excited to see what you create next. Thank you for being so open hearted.
🤔 While shocking… it was interesting to see your garden without your sustained love and attention, I am most definitely looking forward to your watching your new garden reflect it’s love of your attention Linda 🙃
I have faith and trust and I believe some garden fairies will supply some pixie dust for your new storybook garden ✨️🌷🌷🌷 (but as a Nebraska neighbor I relate to your apprehensions about Mother Nature cooperating 🥰) sending hugs!
How do you plant so many tulips without damaging any?
H Linda.I am a follower of yours for the last 3 years.I have followed you in the fiery tale house and I will follow you in story book cottage. It is so exciting that you are starting the new year in a new house. Can’t wait to see what you will be doing at the cottage.😊
Everything is going to be okay. I can relate to all your concerns. I’m personally struggling with a move in the future. I am a realtor myself. Moving is a very big decision that stirs a lot of emotions. Look forward to seeing your new garden design. Hubs is right , you made the right decision. God Bless!❤️
🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 You can do it!! I will be with you all the way! I'm down sizing too and you are a huge inspiration to me!
Your friend Kristine
Well, sure you can do it again! I'm in a new (old) house too and your tales of starting from scratch and teaching yourself have been an enormous encouragement to me. Your news came on the same day I finally had your beautiful book in hand, so the surprise was compounded by the coincidence for me. Congratulations! I can't wait to watch and learn as you transform your new place into a beautiful garden that rivals your fairy tale garden. Your attitude and energy are an inspiration to me!
You held it together Linda and so did I…. Until the end! But new beginnings in the future ❤.
Dear delightful Linda, this last Wednesday walkabout made tears flow from my eyballs.
Your new home,however:
YOU
ARE
GOING
TO
KNOCK
IT
OUT
OF
THE
PARK.
Because that is what you do.
You transform ❤️
I'm a relatively new follower and I'm beyond excited to be able to follow you on this new journey! I BELIEVE! 🧚♂️
Been following you for a few years. I think the new house is giving you energy because as beautiful as you are, you seem younger at the new house. It must be all of the potential it has. All the best on your new venture. I can't wait to see what you will do with it. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
It is great to shake up your life once in a while! Excited to follow your new adventures! I have learned a lot from you, but most of all, I appreciate your enthusiasm for life and growing things!
My property is pretty blank even though I lived here 30 something years. I started some planting the last two years. I am looking forward to seeing the new beauty you will bring to your new home. Linda, you made the right decision, don't worry about that.
Oh Linda, it was kinda hard to watch the wed. Walk around the garden that we all love. Best of luck with your new garden. I will watch you as it progresses. Be happy this is a good thing.
I had forgotten that the Fairytale house yard was a blank slate when you moved in, sooo are you kidding me ?? You will absolutely do a wonderful job with your new gardens !!
I m happy you will take some plants with you from your loved garden.
Maybe you could sow fox glove in pots now. They need a bit cold first to germinate.
In 2024 you would have faboulous foxglove in flower.
Take care.
kind regards,
Marcus
Just watched the first one nice work,Mike the gardener
What a wonderful walk. It would be so hard to not pick everything up and take everything with you. But I’m really excited to see the new garden!
I definitely, positively, know and look forward to seeing it flourish.
Can't wait to see you and Stewart post constantly 😃✝️♥️👍
Au revoir Madame Tudor and Bonjour Mademoiselle Chateau Cottage…..you can do it🌹🌹🌹
I'm going to miss everything, especially the viburnum in your backyard.
Can't wait to see what you do in your new home/garden. 😊
I’m sure you’ll miss the Fairytale House but you’ll have a wonderful time in your new home ❤️ I believe!!!
I have watched you —- long time at this residence and garden, and will look forward to your new residence and watching your garden come to life. Will be sad but it will be alright. Many happy times in your new home and garden is coming your way. With all your potted plants you might just end up with an oriental look.
I found your channel during the pandemic and I am so grateful for you and Stuart and your wonderful content! Bittersweet walk through the garden today. It will be so wonderful to watch the process of you planning and planting your new garden.
I have found myself saying to several friends lately “when one door closes, another door opens“. I think this applies to you at this moment… we all have wonderful memories and you will carry those memories of your beloved home to your new location, and life will go on and the adventure will continue… I can say from experience that as you age you will appreciate one level living very much! And having a fresh slate on which to draw your first year of beauty will be an adventure… I have been following you for sometime now because our weather in Arkansas can be similar to your weather there. You have given me confidence to go to the garden and have an adventure… Stewart is right about starting a garden with real wisdom and experience you will not have to make the mistakes you made 3040 years ago… thank you for your inspiration and I am so excited about your new house I almost feel like I’m living it with you enjoy my friend enjoy‼️🎶🏘
Closing a chapter of your life is always with mixed emotions. So, I am sad to see you leave your fairytale house that you decorated so beautifully and the gorgeous garden you lovingly designed and cared for. You provided so much inspiration for me personally for both the inside of my home and my blossoming garden. But, I am very excited to see what you do in your storybook cottage, especially with your blank space of a garden. Enjoy this next chapter and thank you for taking us along for the ride! Thank you also to Stewart for his incredible talent in capturing the beauty of both the home and garden. 💕
Can't wait for the new gardens
I need to ask you, did you let prospective buyers know that you will be taking stuff from the garden ? I mean for me that could be a " oh I'm in love with this garden" moment.
I started following you during covid. I was an ICU nurse and your videos helped me forget about a lot of sadness at the hospital during that time. I am retired now and so excited to see how you design and landscape at your new home! All your memories will be with you❤️ Thanks for one more walk about!!
I know you feel so many mixed emotions right now but busy hands make busy minds and you have an exciting plan for your new garden.. but I have so cherished your house and gardens and have learned so much from all yours and Stewart’s gorgeous videos!!! Take care my friends you n stewart and POWER ON TO A NEW ADVENTURE!!! LOOK FORWARD TO MANY NEW STORYBOOK VIDEOS!!! Thankyou for always sharing this stunning house and garden a true delight for me over the years!!!! 🧚🧚♀️🧚🏻♂️ENJOY YOUR NEW BEAUTIFUL SPACE!!

You did a
I'm looking forward to seeing how you start a new garden. Everything is going to be just fine 🌷💕
I’m not crying! You’re crying! 😢
I remember when I started following you, 2 and some years ago, thanks to the pandemic. I have learned so much from you. Thanks. I know how hard it must have been to let go your FAiry tale house, but imagine how much you will enjoy the blank slate that your cottage is. That's a unique opportunity. I am jealous! Enjoy, embrace it!!!! Thanks for all the teaching and the straight forward communication you have always had! Happy 2023~~~
Enjoyed you sharing your home and gardens with us
I'm wondering if you will consider artificial turf again?
I can sympathize that this move is bittersweet, though I'm sure we're all just as excited about your new home and garden. i love the house, the garden is clearly the blank canvas upon which you will do your magic. xo
Linda I have been following you since your Instagram days. Still following watching every video you put out. Looking forward to following your new adventure.
You mentioned you were going to say who bought your house, did I miss that?
Linda, I know how you’re feeling….the sadness mixed right alongside the joy and excitement but, believe me, you are absolutely doing the right thing. My husband and I relocated a couple of years ago after having lived in our home for over 40 years. It’s one of the best but also the hardest decisions we’ve ever made but it’s been so revitalizing and fun. You’re in for a great adventure and a wonderful opportunity for growth. Enjoy every minute of the journey. Rest when you’re tired and don’t rush the process. I wish you all the very very best. You’re a lovely lady.
That was a tug on the heartstrings! Thankyou for doing this video:) I have been watching since 2019. The very first video I happened upon of yours was a Wednesday walkabout and I was mesmorized. I am not an actual gardener but I do plant containers and baskets…can t wait to go on your new journey.. It may inspire me to put a shovel in the ground lol I believe!!
I think leaving an established place such as your, has to difficult. However, it'a rather exciting to
be able to watch you start and work on the new garden with all the knowledge you've amassed. It's
such an intelligent maneuver for you all at this age. You still have lots of years to have enjoyment and the fun of watching it happen probably from a different perspective than last time. Love you
show more as the years go by. Thank you, Linda, for such unselfish sharing.
Bitter sweet.. Many hours I’ve spent watching your channel and learning from you. I admit, I did shed a tear or two during this last garden tour😢 Looking forward to the cottage transformation❤️
