  2. Well, bugga me! I was hoping to catch up with you & discuss a lot of hydrophobic issues & make a suggestion for a segment on this very issue but with more subject issues, problems & ways to break the soil hydrophobia. Nothing more disheartening than seeing a good watering seep down only to find it hasn't even wet below the surface. That water has to go somewhere!

    I do know that one of the main culprits of soil hydrophobia is when soil gets so dry to the stage where a waxy residue builds up on the soil particles, resulting in the soil repelling water rather than absorbing. Now, how to break that actual cycle sooner rather than later? I have tried using a watering can with a sprinkle bar using 9 litres water with 2 TBL of dish washing liquid which does marginally work but not fully.
