  1. Goodness Laura how on Earth you finished the video after being stung by that! Question: Have you ever been approached by your local florist to buy your flowers? Or thought of selling bouquets down at the Garden Center? I know you give a lot away; but I wondered about that! Where if you did not store corns from last year can you get corns to start?

  2. Ranunculus are one of my favorites! Would love to see all of your raised beds full of them!! I actually remembered to put up some (small caterpillar) hoops last fall so I can get them out, protected earlier this spring. It will be an experiment since i have never been organized enough to remember to get the hoops in before the ground freezes! I usually plant my dahlias out as the ranunculus are slowing down, in the same bed. The tuber sprouts are short at first and as the weather warms the dahlias take off and the ranuncs go to sleep. My corms have had all summer to rest and energize and I pull them out once i have cut back my dahlias. Works as a space saver for me. So glad to see all the glorious color from previous years, make me want to pre sprout…must. be. patient!! ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. Canโ€™t wait to see them in bloom. Hope your leg is okay from being stung.๐Ÿ˜Š

  4. Oh, I'm so sorry that happened to you!! Getting stung is no fun. You handled that like a true champ!!

  5. Canโ€™t wait to see them all in bloom. They are so pretty in bouquets. Love seeing Russell, he is such a ham. He really loves photo bombing you. He has to be in the spot light. Love it love it. Thanks so much for sharing your process on how to grow those beautiful flowers

  6. Ranunculus are so gorgeous, an underrated flower I don't hear many people talk about, love them. This has been such an inspirational video, I'm excited to add these to my garden. Russell is just adorable, I'm sure he gets in your way, he's beautiful! Hope you're okay after being stung, it looked like a hornet or wasp. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. Have a wonderful week! Take care! Kathy x Ontario, Canada

  7. Oh Laura! ๐Ÿ Tell me you have a high pain tolerance without telling me you have a high pain tolerance! Have you had to deal with wasps nests before? Anything to deter these flying monsters?
I got stung by evil yellow jacket wasps and I cried it hurt soooo bad! Granted it was 5 times on my front neck but yah, how you just took it all in stride with with grace, much like how you approach everything else you do and just rolled with it. Hope it heals quickly for you btw.

  8. I think that might have been a ๐Ÿ wasp or mud dobber. I hate those things. I had to rewind several times because I couldnโ€™t think straight after you were stung. Youโ€™re very tough.

  9. I laughed so hard when you said cheddar is going to take care of that….idk why?๐Ÿ˜‚

  10. I loved the colorful shots from previous seasons. Another informative, inspiring video. Bad bee! Feel better.

  11. Hornet sting in January… Yikes! Those little suckers hurt! Have a good look around for his friends. Surely, they are building a nest in that all too cozy greenhouse! Geesh!

  12. Laura that bee sting had to hurt – you handled it like a pro. I love ranunculus. You have inspired me to try pre sprouting again although that tray of pre-soaked corms did look like a bunch of tarantula spiders. Kind of creepy but oh so beautiful when they bloom. Where can one find corms this time of year? Any recommendations ?

  13. That looked like a wasp to me… I wouldn't let your cats mess with it, because wasps can sting multiple times. ๐Ÿˆ
    Hope your leg feels better.

  14. I havenโ€™t had much luck with them in Michigan-only about a third of mine bloom. I think we go from cold wet spring to summer too fast. Love seeing yours look so beautiful every year. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  15. Started my first batch ,soaking 10 days before Christmas. They are up and full of leaves. I am ready to pot them up outside !

  16. Am I pronouncing ranunculus wrong? I hear Laura say โ€œranuculusโ€ but I always pronounce the second N. Maybe itโ€™s silent??

  17. Lol โ€œand I got stung by a bee!โ€ ๐Ÿ Sorry that was the first thing that came rushing to my mind! Laura I do hope your ok getting stung by a bee can be dangerous to some people out there ๐Ÿ˜ข

  18. Oh no! So sorry you were stung but please clarify: That was not a bee! It was a wasp. For the most part bees are nonaggressive. This misidentification is why people think bees attack. Surely, Laura knows the difference between bees and wasps.

  19. My husband and I were watching this video together and when Laura squealed, my husband said โ€œoh I thought Aaron was getting frisky!โ€๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  20. I'm zone 7 and planted mine in the fall, I read somewhere it was ok in my zone to do that, so we'll see

  21. Thank you Laura โค 2yrs ago was my first attempt to grow from corms and I left my water from my tap running slightly for 3-4 hrs to give them oxogen . And last year a fish tank pump to oxygenate the water . This year I will follow your advice . You have never disappointed us All with your expert tutelage. Youโ€™re an international treasure.๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

  22. Iโ€™m so sorry you got stung by that bee!! I probably wouldโ€™ve been totally done at that point and hobbled off.. youโ€™re a true professional and trooper! Thank you Laura for all the hard work bringing us content in the dulldrums of winter! ๐Ÿ˜Šโ™ฅ๏ธ

  23. Keep baking soda on hand and wet it enough to make a paste. Let it sit on the sting and in seconds it Takes the string out. โค

  24. I know bulbs are very different than corms but could you talk about keeping unplanted bulbs til fall! Is it possible? Without having them wither up? I splurged on a big order(big for me) and just couldnโ€™t manage to get them all in the ground before the ground froze. Can I go ahead and plant them when the ground thaws out? Love the quality of the Colorblends bulbs but I just was way too ambitious for as old as I am๐Ÿ˜!
