Thank you for supporting our DIY council house makeover journey over the last three years, its been a good few years, however its now time for a new direction for 2023 (don’t worry it still involves diy). My aim for this year is to work towards living more like a homesteader, trying to be more sustainable and self-sufficient. Our plans are to try growing our own fruit and vegetables in our small council house garden, use more eco friendly brands and improve my cooking skills; cooking more from scratch with fresh ingredients. As well as these goals, I want this year to be about being outdoors as much as possible, exploring new places in the UK and maybe to other places around the world.

  1. I've started a similar journey with sustainability and being more eco friendly (working on a video to upload) Excited to see the new chapter you are going into Nick. If you are needing tips, I've found tiktok and pinterest to be super helpful! 🙂 Also super envious about your backpacking adventure!!

  2. G'day Nick, if you get down to Sydney, Australia, please look me up, more than happy to show you around. I don't do any social media though. Great vid as always.

  3. It sounds like you have an amazing year planned out! Make the most of it, especially your backpacking through Asia! It something I’d love to do! Have fun 🙂 x

  4. Nick if you leave plants in pots you need to insulate the pots, pop some bubble wrap inside the pots and then fill up, the bubble wrap will give an air gap between the pot side and the roots which for the south of the UK should get plants through most of the bad weather. Of course there is no guarantee if we get a long cold spell but for most years they should survive. Also put the plants against the wall of the house this wall will be warmer than the fence line. Looking forward to your new adventure s
