  1. Unfortunately, sometimes the new neighbor replacement is worse than the previous ones.

  2. You talked about this … However I need more info on it ,,,,, This past August I had a rather large Conifer taken out and the roots ground down and then I hear that you are not supposed to plant anything in that spot … Well I did before I knew and now I need to know if there is anything that I can put down to help improve the soil in that area …. !!! ….. Zone 6

  3. Buck Jones is in Woodstock GA, we are a wholesale nursery open to the public. We carry large trees of all kinds. If you are in our area please call and we'll see if we have an oak. I know we carry a few varieties

  4. Happy Birthday Jim! 🥳🎉🎊 Cheers to you and another great growing year. 🍻 Thank you for all you do for us, sharing your knowledge constantly and consistently. You're very much appreciated. 🙏

  5. Beginner gardener here, zone 7b, MD. Last summer and spring, I watered the garden by hand with hose and watered heavily. I left the winter hardwood mulch on, and always had fungi growing. These little orange balls, mushrooms, white fuzzy molds. I figured fungi was a good thing in the garden, but lost a handful of plants (ladys mantle, brunnera, foxglove, astilbe, tall iris). Got rot, aphid infestation, mildews, rust/black spots. Gonna try neem oil fungicide (is this good?), and way less watering this year. It gets pretty humid here.

  6. Another great video! I cut down my apple and plum trees as I DO NOT want something that needs spraying all the time. I am so glad I did. Happy birthday !

  7. Re: cryptomeria, were you referring to Chapel View? I can't find info on a Chapel Hill Cryptomeria. Thanks Jim and Happy Birthday 🎂

  8. I agree about 'sustainability.' I don't know what it means anymore. Marketing, the media and even politics have redefined it to the point that it is unusable. See also 'organic.'

  9. Totally agree about using plants with lighter colored flowers! My mom pointed this out to me 35 years ago, I had never noticed!! Also, did I miss the video/list of the plants deer eat/plants deer don't eat???
