I don’t particularly like producing videos in relation to China & geopolitics, but after the rise in Asian hate crimes during the pandemic and noticing that this is not a new phenomenon, it would be remiss not to remind people that geopolitics plays an enormous impact on the safety and lives of ordinary citizens just trying to earn a living, raise families and live in peace.
As much as netizens say that they don’t conflate governments with their people, there’s been enough examples to prove otherwise. I hope people realise the dangers of the “us vs. them” narrative perpetuated by leaders & the media as it leads to more xenophobia and hate.
It’s become increasingly clear to me that we need a more nuanced and balanced narrative (subjective, I know) to promote a safer and more harmonious society. Unfortunately, in a world where we are increasingly living in our own echo chambers, this will be a major challenge.

There was no internet and social media in 1980s. I doubt the dirty hate crime tactics of US would work this time round as more and more people are aware of the true colour of American.

The scary part of this anti China hysteria is the behaviour of the western media.When it became a stance of western governments that China is becoming a threat to their hegemony, their media went into collective overdrive drumming up streams of anti Chinese news which are full of exaggeration and falsehoods to smear the country to influence their people's mind to believe that China is evil and a threat that must be stopped by force,if necessary. There is no regard for the truth at all.

I remember all these facts but after traveling to Asia every year, I can assure everyone China is not Japan.
They will not yield to the USA nor sign a treaty like the Plaza Accord to destroy their own economy to satisfy the USA.
China has a history of being exploited by the Western colonists so there is no way they will yield to them.
