Being a permaculture landscaper doesn’t always mean capturing water or building soil, sometimes it means doing some pretty ordinary finish work to create something beautiful for the landscape. After all, beauty is one of the functions of a landscape, especially a zone 1 backyard like this one. I did some staining, trimming, and painting of the wooden garden boxes I built earlier in the project, to create a clean look that compliments the existing house and porch, while blending well with the natural elements of the design. It is always quite satisfying to peel away the painters tape and see the finished product.

I really like the boxes with the black trim.
The garden boxes look great, and the trim makes it look very polished. They look very professional!
