Cynthia Ferguson knows how to design a home that makes an entrance. In her client’s vibrant Lawrence Park home, she tells us how to layer, what materials to use and her best tips for mixing high and low. The maximalist designer takes us room by room, starting in the foyer, where Feather Bloom Sisal wallcoverings from Schumacher bring instant impact. See the dining room chandelier she calls a “class act” and discover what she means by the “final layer of design.”

save me from 1950's wallpaper!
I love Cynthia’s work and also her home tour online. This place is very maximalist style with big restraint for her. Great space.
Gorgeous 🤩also one of the best videos that l have seen in a long time . Loved the Philip Jeffries grasscloth wallpaper and the art . You can never go wrong with Schumacher! The designer gave a lovely peaceful description of each room and her vision behind it . Bravo 👏🏻
Love the dining room; the rest is the same old run-of-the-mill blah.
Those dining room chairs are cute 😍
❤love your designs! Great colors!!
A lot of great pieces in this space and there are spots that I love but it is STUFFED! too many things cancel each other out. 40% of stuff should be taken out
Suggestion for homeowner: the blue and white jars on dining room table are too close together…they need breathing space. Remove all, then play with combinations until you get it right. Keep some on your buffet or elsewhere. Place a round tray underneath the ones you decide to keep on the dining table. Use a paper circle under the arrangement to determine the size of tray you'll need. You may want to mix some small objects in with the porcelain on the tray for contrast and variety. You have a beautiful home!
You all need to check out this Designer’s house if you haven’t already. You will be blown away. So bold and full of colour. She’s so creative. Love what she’s done here.
I am glad to see Cynthia appear on this channel!!! I Love her maximalist style and one day I move to Toronto I would have her to design my home. but now I need to save up.
I love how this house has been decorated!!
I wish they would’ve turned on the chandelier so we could’ve seen how it looks lit up.
Love the colorful designs. I want to see the chandelier lit please!
So cool. But where is the rest of the house?
Hmmm. That’s not very maximalist.
Love how you use a different floral drapery on this two rooms. Beautiful concept from bright foyer / living room to green dining room.
❤ this!
The dog lays on the floor wishing he had a nice carpet.
Wouldn't it be grand to see that chandelier lit up at night?
I love it. It is max but not overwhelming. Love the dining room but wouldnt do all the wall green, maybe just an accent wall. I love the wallpaper. This inspire me so much
Fantastic to see a house with personality! Great job Cynthia…best tour I’ve seen in months.
I would have kept the dining room in lighter bluish-grayish – yellowish colors on the walls (that would go with the carpet & teh white-blue vases on the table. The lighter walls would be the base for adding the colorful art & flowers. Also I would change the curtains once the green on the walls is taken out. In the living room I was not a fan of the carpet. All the rest of the details & style are indeed beautiful.
Really liked the dining room but wanted to move the ginger jars to the side board and put the flowers on the table. Also I didn't dislike the living room but it didn't speak to the dining area as they say
Dinning room is so lovely. Loved the house tour👍
Let’s blow our budget on decorative surfaces but don’t give our clients even a basic closet!
Beautiful home. I don't like green though.
Way to precious. Who actually lives in a magazine?
L I K E 👍👍👍👍👍 💯 💢 💯 💢💯 💖💖💖💖💖
I love how they were courageous enough to have 2 rooms in the same area be totally different.
Just a thought, how much money would have been saved if the dining room and living room were just painted in those colours and not papered? The effect would be the same as most people would not inspect for wall texture.
Is the dinning room for a color blind person?
The entire theme is so cluttered….still i liked the foyer settings
These spaces are nothing short of fabulous! I love everything Cynthia chose!
I love this designer. Her explanations of how she styles are so helpful, detailed and logical. Super. Thanks.
Cyn 👏🏿 thi 👏🏿 a 👏🏿 ❤ how I love your work!
Absolutely love this place! The wallpapers are just beautiful, particularly the that green dining room! It’s all so fresh, light, airy, and comfortable.
dinning room is beautiful and inviting
Nice but dusting that chandelier would be a nightmare
Amei Amei Amei…Lindo. Rio de Janeiro – Brasil.
This is a showroom like a arty-fatty boutique! Bold & daring is key here. If there’s anything I would change, hmmm, the color of the carpet(not that it’s a mismatch, but my personal taste) & the curtains. Beautiful prints minus the dragon image (again, my personal preference).
I am definitely a reasonable maximaliste but I think how the living is just the prolongation of the dining is just awkward to have bright soft contemporain living room next to dark green and grany 60’s dining. Doesn’t flow well, two era and two different style.
Amazing spaces I love the dining room, it’s such a fun space !
Beautifully done.
Cynthia’s own home is stunning! I’d love to have her come consult me with color lol. I just love her use of color
I’ve seen enough half way through, I don’t like any of it!
I am not a fan of maximalism. But I cannot not love the homely vibe of the space. 🥰
