I brought a bunch of plants to my parents house over the summer and I was assured that they were being looked after. Well……They were, but I discovered quite a few that really needed help, and some that were beyond saving!!

  1. I know I should say something related to plants but I have to say – love your jumper!

  2. Hi Amanda.
I'd like to know what the snake plant is..what type, please?
I listen many times and couldn't figure out what was said. I thought it was a Jaboa (?spelling) but you didn't say that..I don't think. THANK YOU! BTW…YOU; YOUR PLANTS AND HOME(S) ARE BEAUTIFUL!! 😍

  3. Thank you for this video. Sometimes our plants surprise us and are able to survive and eventually thrive. Hope you find this is the case with yours. Take care! 👌🪴🥰

  4. Amanda this video was by far THE most painful video of yours I have watched. All those magnificent plants-dead! Yes, I have had plants die, but usually one at a time. Goodness, how can someone watch what was happening and not do anything? Heartsick.😢💫

  5. I have learned the hard way that my family doesn’t care about plants as much as I do so if I give em a plant and it’s not in their face every day they’ll totally forget. I used to get sad about it but now I don’t get plants to family members unless they enjoy plants then I only give em ones they’ve talked about before.

  6. I’m fairly new to plants. Just like having my first child, every single changes have become worrisome to me! I’ve bought too many plants (over 60)in a span of 3 months… and I think I am a little overwhelmed! I am going to take it as a challenge and a learning curve! Every single new leaves and healthy plants have so far brought me a lot of happiness! Best thing about this progress is that, “I’ve never been more relaxed”

  7. Awww this gives me hope my spider plant took a digger my dad dropped it and watered after it had pest I was so mad but we are on our plant healing journey

  8. You know I always enjoy watching your videos. And I have learned that it is better to under water than over water. Now with my Sansiveria , I have three. I let it get bone dry, watered and then the leaves got all wilted. Like WTH 🤦🏽‍♀️ I just don’t want to water them ever again. Like ever.

  9. I put my monstera in a pot like you have in the back and it rotted. I was so hurt about my baby. What media did you use, how often do you water, and is it a glazed ceramic or terra cotta pot?

  10. I'm sorry you had to go thru this.

I had the same thing happened. I normally leave my heat on 60° when I'm away in the winter. Unfortunately, my digital thermostat decided 43° was more ideal during the cold snap in December here in Georgia. My house is usually humid, so my tropical plants thrive. I'm going to be patient with some, but at least 7 are going in the compost bin.

  12. I left a lot of plants with my father in law once when we moved. Months later when we were able to get them maybe 10 were left lol. Stuff happens doesn't it.

  13. Wait a minute, you put a china doll & a snake plant in the same pot. I thought china dolls were "demanding " little divas & couldn't take any dryness.

  14. Maybe I'm bad but when I see plants in that condition I toss em. I don't nurse plants back from death.

  15. Hi Amanda. My poor plants I get very poor light especially during the winter months it's mostly cloud covered. Well I put all my plants in my laundry room on a bakers rack next to a window the temp is 62* I water sparingly during the winter. I just pray they hang on until summer when I can put them on my porch and they can be happy again. Most do okay and survive. I have resisted the urge to get more plants unless I know for sure they can handle a low light environment. A lot of plants in the big stores don't even tell you the name of the plants anymore which is sad, I have found most of the really pretty ones need bright light.
