I only have a few more days in Portland before I resume my full-time RV life. The weather has turned to the typically Pacific Northwest cold and wet. Between storms, I went with my friend Diane to the Japanese Garden to see the fall foliage. The Portland Japanese Garden is considered the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan. For me, is it one of Portland’s greatest treasures. I visit as often as I can. I love coming here and have had a membership for many years. Member hours are before the general public hours. Diane and I went during this very quiet and zen time. The garden did not disappoint.

This channel is about all things trikes and RV travel. I have been riding a recumbent trike since 2005 and have been touring since 2007 all over the world. I have toured on 6 continents, in over 20 countries and cycled more than 70,000 miles. In 2020, I shifted from solo trike touring to solo RV travel. I look for primo places to ride my trike in the USA and explore this beautiful country.

On this channel I have gear reviews, tips and tutorials but, mostly, I produce short travelogue type videos of my tours as I go. I travel with a Sony ZV-1, GoPro, Insta360 One X2, Skydio drone, and an iphone. Thanks for subscribing and following along!

I also have an extensive journal on Blogger that goes into much more detail about the area and the emotional ups and down. The blog has a link to Garmin stats and a map of every day’s ride. There are also a ton of pictures. You can find it following this link:

  1. Yes Sylvia. All this getting up early on your recent episodes is making me tired! Jokes aside, I've gotten lazy since I retired. I spent too many years doing that. I now only get up if I have an appointment or something, otherwise it's 9:30 am when our cats start meowing at my bedroom door for their morning feeding 😁.

PS: I've always wanted a Japanese garden in my backyard.

  2. Great tour! Sad I didn’t visit that garden the one and only time I was in Portland in June of 2019. The Rose Garden was so impressive, too! Very fun logo and channel name! 🐢🍁🍂 Keto On! 😘~Steph

  3. Sylvia,
Mt. Hood brought back childhood memories. Almost like being there. Very beautiful. I love the tree canopies. I also like what you've done with your hair.
    Be well and stay safe,
