  1. There’s an egg shortage here in New Zealand too. I have lots of chickens but the sneaky girls hide their eggs (free ranging 3 acres) so we will have to build a big run

  2. FYI my favorite way to make quick yogurt is using ultrapasturized milk and my instant pot. Using ultrapasturized milk eliminates the need to heat the milk prior to adding the culture. I make a gallon at a time and it lasts all week.

  3. Does Azure have any of their products in grocery stores? We are on public assistance, and I would still like to feed my family more whole ingredient foods

  4. With the chickens and feeding them eggs, if they’re calcium deficient they can also become egg bound. Which means they’re eggs are so soft and low on calcium that they can actually break inside them and can be deadly.

  5. You should grow your own pineapples from the head. You can cut the head into 4 and grow 4 plants. Takes 2 years to fruit though.

  6. You can make feta, roasted beetroot & avocado salad. It's beyond amazing. It's actually how I started liking beetroot.

  7. I hate to waste food so l like to almost empty my fridge as much as possible before l shop. My cupboards too!

  8. Hi Becky. Greetings from tropical north Queensland, Australia. When you cut off the pineapple top, put it in your basement until spring. It should be okay to dry out in a cool dark place for a month or two. When spring arrives, plant it in a pot, so that you can move it somewhere warmer in winter. Hopefully, in two years, after the absolutely gorgeous flower pops out it will mature into your own homegrown pineapple. Keep it in the pot after fruiting as it will throw out a 'pup' and the cycle continues.

  9. I'm so excited as well, I've never done a pantry challenge before. I got an electric canner and a high speed blender/food processor for Christmas so I'm excited to make some items from scratch that I haven't made before.

  10. (Abby typing) I enjoy your channel a lot. I have changed up how we eat (more plant-based whole foods ) and like to explore meal ideas and techniques. I also plan to make tamales for the first time this year. I have my co-worker's recipe and also watched many "Views from the Road" videos on youtube in preparation.. Stephanie and Cloud, two sisters, make great Mexican based dishes and have really good tips and tricks. Maybe you could check their videos out and ….

  11. This is exactly what I need! Hope to start Friday after stocking up on some fruit and veg

  12. My rules for pantry challenge this year is only buying fresh fruit and vegetables. And also my husband doesn’t have to participate 😅

  13. Thank you Becky! I’m so inspired by your participation in the Pantry Challenge I’ve decided to participate as well! Can’t wait to make yogurt with you!!! Today I used up some leftover corn tortillas by making baked tortilla chips! Enjoy that sweet baby of yours. ❤️💕❤️

  14. I have been trying to include “me time” and I have decided my nails are part of this. What is your nail regimen. They always look great. What is the color, brand or anything else about them. Dip? Anything at all.

  15. Happy new year 5783 in the Hebrew calendar and 2023 Gregor Ian Calendar. Read . the book of Proverbs chapter 3 VS 5-6
    👑👰🤴👸🕊️😇🎉

  16. if you want some really nice comfortabe shoes for cooking in the kitchen or going to the store you shoud get some hey dudes there so nice i got a pair for christmas and i use them everyday and if they get durty you can wash them in a washer i love them

  17. Not sure of a shortage, but I can tell you the prices of eggs have been horrifying!

  18. Freezer triple cooked chips (chunky fries) are so good! Boil potatoes and freeze straight away and just stick in the oven. Or Boil, par cook in oil/oven and freeze at that point…. so versatile

  19. Egg shortage, milk shortage, sugar is always out, chicken shortage, and most predominantly, we seem to have a common sense shortage in my area. But anyway, I'm so glad to see you getting back in the swing of things. Glad to see little "quarter acre" is doing well and blessing us with his presence. Bless you both! You're amazing Becky!!!

  20. Hi Becky- I am doing the pantry challenge as well this year here in North Louisiana. Going to do an inventory and see what I have that needs to be eaten and use up stuff so I have freezer space for our new garden produce. Good job on the fig trees! I have a very simple, old timers fig preserve recipe that is super easy and so good. Let me know if you want it. You are looking fabulous! I am so glad to see your energy returning and your excitement to get back to things is infectious. Thanks for all you do and keep up the good work. Like you, I find things "jump" into my basket at the grocery store and staying out of there is very productive to saving money for sure! Hug that sweet baby and enjoy every stage he will go through.

  21. I enjoy your videos, it has inspired me to try to do a pantry challenge. I’m doing a semi-assistive pantry challenge, I have some conditions that don't make it safe to cook on the stove or oven without help, but I hope to at least make it with some help from the kitchen gadgets within January. I started the first after watching your last year's video and I'm doing pretty well. I have three rules: 1. You can only go to the store for your food up to twice (I normally shop every week). 2. Try one new recipe (normally I could eat the same things and be happy to not change). 3. Be kind to yourself it's a learning experience. Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

  22. Such a great haul Becky!! We definitely have the same great taste in foods 😂 makes it so much fun & easier when I watch ur videos I love it..I can't wait to be able to get outside and start gardening feels like forever 😂 here in my part of Ohio our eggs are becoming short as well..for a dozen of just regular eggs they are now $4 & change for 18 it is over 5 almost 6 & for 60 they are $16 & change I cry Everytime I have to buy them it is so sad I hate it.. I feel so bad for the ones who have a large family I'm like how can we or anyone afford to eat it breaks my heart..

  23. Hi 👋 Becky! I am a newer subscriber yo your channel but I have quickly become a fan.
I am vegan but my husband is not, I love taking homesteading recipes and tweaking them into something we can both enjoy so thank you for all your content.
I am going to try this pantry challenge! We have so much in our pantry and freezer that needs to be used. I am going to allow 100$ for each month to mainly buy produce seeing as I did not grow and preserve vegetables besides tomato products and frozen asparagus.

  24. Becky, I listen to you always say to add salt to everying. I happen to live in a little town in Ontario Canada. We are proudly the largest salt mine in the world. " Goderich salt mine, located 1,800 feet under Lake Huron, is the largest underground salt mine in the world. The mine is as deep as the CN Tower in Toronto is tall. It has operated since 1959." I have raised my family and now live alone so I don't have to cook for anyone but myself but I really enjoy following you and your growing family. Love and prayers to you all.

  25. I plan on not shopping in February ❤I spent over $500 in groceries (saved over $120!) I still cant believe I spent that much:

  26. Hello Becky. You are such an inspiration for me. I am trying Pantry Challenge for the first time this year.
#1 Do a better zero-waste kitchen this year than last.
#2 Track meals the family gravitates to.
#3 Plan for at least 5 meals weekly from pantry items we already have.
