  1. This video is so helpful to find new food spots! I just moved to So Cal a few year ago and I’ve been going to the same restaurants for a while now. Thank you!!! 🤍

  2. That leaf is called tia to in Vietnamese. It's a bit similar to shiso as others have noted but I wouldn't say its the same. For Japanese and Korean cultivars they come in either red or green and have a differing flavor between the two colors. In Vietnam I feel like I exclusively seem them bi-color (green on one side and red on the other). I find the flavor of Vietnamese tia to different as well, not as "herby" or "medicinal compared to Korean/JP shiso. In English it's called beefsteak plant.

  3. You went to all the wrong places! Next time try Nguyen kitchen, yangs house of chicken, and Miguel jrs. Except paderia slaps.

  4. Everything looked so good. But am I the obit weirdo that added up the prices lol. If I added it right it came up to $199.17 which isn't bad at all

  5. The Vietnamese Cambodian restaurant intrigues me! The egg noodle and rice noodle dish looks delicious!

  6. for boba i highly recommend omono in irvine! it has the creaminess that's lacking at orobae

  7. I’m from OC and I loooove these videos! I live in Korea and am moving home soon and want to try all these out

  8. The owners of Trieu Chau are ethnic Chinese from Cambodia and speak Chiu Chow 潮州 dialect. It’s Chiu Chow style food catered to a Cambodian/Vietnamese palate. Glad you got to try it. It’s so good and the owners are very nice people. 😀👍🏽

  9. You know, I've never really thought about it before but fish sauce DOES look like tea.😄

  10. Hi, Meimei! Wow! I live in Orange County and I’m glad to see you have a video of great spots. I’ve actually never heard of most of these! My favorite boba places that are close to me are Ding Tea in Rancho Santa Margarita (I go there a lot) and The Alley at the Irvine Spectrum. I hope you try The Alley at some point next time you visit. I’ve tried a few other boba places and didn’t like them as much. Please come back soon! This makes me so happy! 🥰

  11. The banh cuon, you’re supposed to pour the fish sauce over the rice noodles and eat it all together with the toppings. You don’t dip them.

  12. I was literally sitting at the same table you were at at Phoholic a few days ago that's funny

  13. Thank you!!! We have moved to OC for a few years and still need help with food/boba recommendations ❤

  14. Happy New Year! Please get ramen at Hiro Nori if you're still in town! I don't think there's a better place in Cali.

  15. Omg you are in my hood!!! Haha crazy to see all these food places make it to your video!! Not enough people know about the Thai curry pizza 😍😍😍

Next time you’re here, try the HNtea house in Irvine/lake forest area as well! on par with Orobae without the long wait and chewier boba!❤️

  16. I'm Italian I eat Asian food some times but I'm not really crazy for Asian foods. But I like watching u vlogs it's interesting to see what u eat I'm like learning something new

  17. I actually tried to apply to work at rodeo 39. Before they opened up they had a big job fair; the owner of the building was there and I had the honour of picking up a conversation with him. He told me the people who own banh xeo boys are actually 2 dentists; banh xeo is their passion. Their original location is in downtown Santa Ana.
Also, if you're ever back in the OC you should defs try shootz. It's fusion Hawaiian, their kimchi fried chicken tonkatsu is really good! And the musubi too.
Anyways, glad you enjoyed your foodventure in the OC! ^°^

  18. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always been told and when my grandma makes the pickled carrots and what you call dicon for the banh xeo she uses unripened papya and then pickles it instead of the dicon. Correct me if I'm wrong!

  19. So happy to see this video being that I just moved to the OC and haven’t explored the foods as much as I would like. Thank you!

  20. My favorite food from the video was the banh xeo!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT, it's probably my favorite Viet dish. i haven't been to the oc in a while, so i def gotta check out some of these places whenever i go!

  21. Check out blazin on harbor Blvd also for boba check out t on ice also shabuya is a good spot to check out

  22. Banh xeo for $15 is a crime tho. Go to Asian markets and buy one premixed banh xeo batter for $2.50 to make at least 6 banh xeos

  23. If you need another suggestion. At Rodeo39 you passed by a bakery called sweet G's and they sell ube cookies with white chocolate 🍪!! It's always my go to and it's unique!
