Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi
Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

Does one ever have to scoop the green layer off the wayer in the well?
The stone structure beside your kitchen is so cute. It will make a lovely sleeping space. I hope you are able to get started soon.
Do you get frost in the morning at those cold temperatures, like we do in the U. K?
Your place is beautiful. I can't believe how the level of the water in the well. Thank you for the nice video
Tree looked a lot better
Love you filming just stunning

Happy new year to you both so look forward to saturdays and your vlog, our house is so cold, glad for the 13tog king-size quilt, love your wood burner, we have to use gasheaters with bottles,

Um 2023 cheio de saúde 🙏❤️ e Paz ☮️❤️🙏🙏❤️❤️
The bonus of burning wood is that it tends to warm you a few times before you burn it. Stack it, cut it, move it then burn it 😉
This season in Portugal…Beautiful!
What I Love about FOG..🌄🐈🐈🐕🦺🐕🦺🥰. You keep it beautifully relaxing. Balancing the many snapshots of your life. Nature..Wildlife..pets and offgrid all in harmony..using your artistic eye.🥰🥰💚🇯🇲
Very calming video. Just what I needed.
🌟👏👍🍀💐 22:11
I've never seen a log splitter like that. Nice that's it's completely manual, so no costly upkeep/maintenance.
Your videos are just lovely. 🥰
Cracking video again, love the Sausage cam❤️❤️
Thanks!
Hi Carrisa an Iuwan.interesting you making herbal tea.i use a lot of different herbs for tea.bayleaf.rosemary.mint.lemon myrtle leaves.dill.carrot stems .parsley.used separately.with cloves or dill.

👍Cool
Lovely video despite camera troubles. Thanks
Have wine and chocolate for you guys!
I love watching you two and all the development you are making to your property, with a lot of hard work, but it is so rewarding. Yes definitely brrrrr, so I’ll enjoy my Australian summer❣️.
I love that log splitter!
So much in such a short time! The log splitter looks great, as does the Akaso Brave-7 camera – waterproof AND a Sausage-cam! What's not to like? OK, the sound quality isn't great.
I'm tempted to date when you filmed the moon at 20:52 because I think it also maybe had Jupiter alongside – so 29th Dec looked likely … but it might have been Mars when the full moon passed it on 3rd January …
I'm going with 3/1/23!
Well, the log splitter will certainly take care of large logs. I rented one once to split up about 2 cords of maple logs. It was fun. Stacking was less fun. It's interesting to see the frost in Portugal. Here in N.S. 🇨🇦 we are still having warmer temps. No snow. None forecast in the near future. This is the first time I've seen January like this. Weird. I can't wait to see your 2023 projects.🙂👍👍🥂🇨🇦❤
Those log splitters are great. That new camera looks good. Hope it don"t get much colder. Happy New Year to you all.
not sure if your aware of another couple that have a channel but they have some simillar problems and you might get some good insight or even might be friends,;) here is a link to there channel

Lovely vlog 😊. Could you perhaps leave 2 or 3 bricks or clean rocks of similar mass to heat on your wood burner and/or oven when it's not being used for cooking that you can carry in a metal bucket or such to your cabin and set it on something not flammable like a wide terracotta dish? I'm thinking the bucket of bricks/rocks could give off some initial warmth in the cabin when you're settling in to sleep. When you have a permitted 🔥, maybe u can use that to start heating your bricks/rocks, then move them to your wood burner or oven to retain heat, then off with you (it shouldn't be unattended) to the cabin? If you bucket or container had a cover, like an old tin pie plate or recyclable aluminum tray, it might retain its heat longer? Just a thought. 🤞🏼
I could listen to you talk all day
Luv the accent!!!an such a lovely girl🤩👍🏻yall keep at it an learn all you can!!!that's how life was meant to be lived.
Zip those bags together lol 2 people in one bag ,you ll not get cold!!!
The videography at the beginning is your best so far, in my opinion. You're getting better all the time. You've settled into the land so naturally. Best to you for the new year.
Could you make a glass house out of your water tank ?
You should think about moving your bed into the kitchen for the cold weather. It would be so cosy with the log burner.
Another throughly enjoyable video. Thank you so much.
Is there a reason you've not put the panel on the roof? If its just because of cable length i think it'd be a good investment. Otherwise the otherside of the doorway usually is in the sun.
You are making such wonderful progress! Happy New Year! How much total land do you have with your recent purchase?
Also I have an idea that will reduce your firewood needs and provide a warmer sleeping environment. It's pretty cheap.https://youtu.be/NYJyxptclos
Such hard work but looks so rewarding. It’s cool to have the different camera footage and something you could incorporate. Have a great week! ❤ From Michigan
You need goats for the brambles. Mayb a neighbor wouldn't mind bringing theirs by for a couple of days. 😅
Gosh I'm so in love with your angelic property and videophotography! So peaceful, such beauty, so blessed.
I just watch your vids for the Dachschund!! Always on guard!! Good little hunting dog!! :-)!!
Bom dia, and happy new yr. Carrissa, what was the name of the plant you harvested? I couldn't catch what you said it was? In your life in Uk, did you garden. Your land is so inviting and friendly looking. I really must look back to your early gids and make my way through them. That is what I am currently doing with Nick and Andrea's. Love the dog cam, gives a whole new prospective. Iwan, i thought for a second you were going to fall headfirst into the well, as you leaned so far over.
Many thanks for this video, I imagine it can get quite cold inside your house, what solution do you have for keeping warm inside during cold winter nights? Can you insulate the walls from inside or outside?
ERES MI HEROINA. INTRÉPIDA Y DECIDIDA. SALUDOS
We have a group of wild boars who roam around our house in the night and plow the rock-hard ground seemingly effortlessly. In order to actually have a garden we experimented with a raised bed made from corrugated steel. It is 80cm high and did the trick! They didn't even get the strawberries (although the ants did.) I hope you don't have to go this route, as it is a huge amount of work just setting up the beds and filling them with logs, branches, leaves, compost, etc. Your dogs will help keep the boars away, though. We babysat our daughter's Lhasa Apso one year and all that little 8kg dog had to do was bark and 300kg of boar would stampede away! 🤣
Love watching you guys what ever happened to your vehicle
Looking forward tonwatching all your adventures again this year. Can't believe how frosty it is there, we've only had one morning of very light frost here in Spain! HNY to you both 🙂
