Wonderful Nick So true 🙂👍 You are wise, knowledgeable, encouraging and you have a friendly (warm) nature that shines through… Many thanks Nick for this video.. Many blessings to you & also everyone out there 🙏🦋🙂
What about worries that stand in the way of happiness?
It is such a pleasure to follow you! Thank you again! Your path and how you share it is for me a wonderful resource and i feel deeply supported. Thank you!
I agree! When I feel Moksha or greed it does not feel good. It feels desperate, constricting and agitating. I have given away nearly half of all my belongings- as well as my deceased parents save for a few trinkets, photos, letters and have one piece of their furniture. All my other things are clothing, books and a few necessities. I feel more happy than if I had a whole house full of things!
Contentment though is so rich and it comes in quiet moments-doing dishes, gazing out the window with a cup of tea, sitting with a loved one looking at the stars. Happiness comes from doing Yoga, talking with friends and family and meditating with my Sangha. I do need to start a gratitude practice!
Thank you Venerable Nick for these wonderful videos!
🙏
You helped out a lot Nick, I want to thank you for that ❤️
I'm not sure about this idea I'm having, but can you give to yourself? Sometimes I think that what makes me unhappy is that I am not giving myself things like I'm not giving myself permission to get the haircut I wish I had the courage to get or wear the clothing style I actually want to wear, I'm not giving myself a protected time for rest and reflection, and I'm not giving myself consistent time to work on skills I want to develop. it's that I'm denying myself things within my reach. Also, I'm not giving myself opportunities to do service. But I wonder if there a difference between greed and between good desires? Is wanting a balanced and sustainable and capable and calm and secure life a greedy thing? I've been trying to treat myself and others better and it makes me happier. I guess I'm thinking now that maybe it's important to do both at the same time: take care of yourself AND others? because if I just take care of me, I isolate myself. If I just take care of others, I neglect myself and my needs. Sometimes to be generous to myself I have to imagine myself as another person I'm trying to build a good healthy life for. It can sometimes feel like my life is a responsibility I've been given over a child (me) I must keep healthy and help grow.
Wow, greed! What a powerful perspective! I find when I don’t journal in the morning and evening, which consists of prompts I’ve pre-established, included gratitude and many of those you mentioned, my mood drops. Even though I’m recovering from illness, I find little ways to give, like thanking someone who helped me or send a friend a gratitude text for being in my life. You’re absolutely right, this practice helps with happiness a lot!! ❤
Great message. Thanks

Another great message. Thanks Venerable Nick!
Thank you for always teaching us. You always know when we need guidance! This is exactly what I needed. ❤😊
Excellent – Most helpful – This video is a "keeper" that I'm going to replay.
You're the only person who has given such a full and complete answer where Greed is the underlying problem.
Then counteracting the Greed with Giving and using meditation to calm myself down so that I can be in the present.
Many thanks……all the way from London !
After reading Ikigai, happiness =
Being in the moment, achieving flow in a task; being the task and removing the conscious part you; most people achieve flow in different ways. Like writing, painting, gaming, reading, running etc.
Waking up early. Wake up early and move your body, whether is walking and greeting people. Jogging or running or stretching and working in your garden. You gotta wake up early and get out of your home.
Eating healthy – you have to grow your own food and cook your own meals, if you have a vegetable garden then you already on the right path. Corps and markets dont care about you. They feeding you garbage for fast money. Grow your own stuff and cook your own meals. It will keep your fingers busy!
Being friendly. Having friends and living in a chill community so you can talk to people. You dont have to be extroverted but having people to talk to helps your mental sanity. Keeping old friends are hard but worth it.
I suggest you read the Book “Ikigai“ and find out more

Thank you for your perfect words, Nick.❤❤
Thank you for listing and for sharing. I will incorporate this.
Wow, this was a really good one. A very thorough breakdown of this subject. I thought of a couple things that could be added to this list. In addition to giving and meditation as practices to help you improve in happiness, I wanted to include focusing on the breath during the day, not just during meditation. And also, doing your best to keep your mind from chattering unnecessarily.
