Recipe: https://pressureluckcooking.com/instant-pot-penny-penne/

Happy New Year, my friends! Since we are in a period where uncertain financial times gives us (and our wallets) stress, I’ve decided to beef up creating shorter recipes with value-brand ingredients. Looking at the glass as more full than empty, this also means less spending money and less time to make a meal. Penny Penne is a new recipe of mine where the name tells it like it is.

You can easily make this recipe to feed a hungry family of six for under $10 (the cost of one fast food meal).

Of course I give you additional ways to make it a bit fancy, but this recipe can be done using a maximum of just TWO ingredients, any pasta sauce you choose, and in just THREE steps. 2023 may be a challenging year, but we will get through it and delicious budget meals like this will help see the silver lining even quicker!

  1. Hi Jeff. I’ve been watching your channel for about 2 months now and have had a blast making quite a few of your dishes. Loved them all. Since this is your latest video, I know you’re more apt to read the comments than ones posted years ago. I hope you don’t mind, but I have a question unrelated to this video. I made the Bangin Brussel sprouts about three weeks ago. Unfortunately, while the pot was building pressure before the cook time began, the “burn” reading came up on the display. Yikes 😅. Immediately, I released the pressure and removed the lid. Surprisingly, there was only minimal scorching and I was still able to eat them. I would love to make them again without incidence obviously. I followed the recipe to a t. What could I possibly do to prevent this from happening again? Not having any thin liquid in the pot was most likely the cause I’m sure. Thanks for all you do for we adoring followers.

  2. I just love you Jeffery. I have followed you and used your recipes for as long as I have owned my pressure pot. You have the best personality that puts a smile on my face! Thanks for all your hard work to bring us the best tasting food ever! I can’t wait for your next book! Maybe called Pennie pinching? Lol

  3. Hey Jeffrey! I’ve been watching you for years and own all of your cookbooks. We make your pasta dishes every week. We can’t get enough of your spaghetti & meatballs and american goulash! I can’t wait to add this new recipe to our regular rotation! Thank you for all your recipes and I can’t wait for your latest cookbook!!!

  4. Do your cookbooks have 3qt and 8qt instantpot size conversions for your recipes?

I can't believe that I've been using instantpots for 10 years now! gave away my OG LUX60 to a friend and it still works!

  5. A one pound box of pasta feeding 6-8 people??? Not in my house. I have two teenage boys. If we want to have enough for my wife and I we have to add a second pound of pasta. Of course, any leftovers it magically disappears before the next evening.

  6. Great video! I loved the option to make it dairy free. I love cheese but we can't eat it in my household. I'd love to see more dairy free recipes from you!

  7. Yum! I buy those same bacon bits and have some of the fancy cheese in the freezer. I plan to make this soon. A nice pantry dish.
