Today’s video I revisit Adam Jones and his incredible kitchen garden for an informal chat about all things gardening. Think the growing season, tips for new gardeners, plans for next year, winter in the garden, and a lot more. Make a cup of tea, and enjoy this little conversation we captured last August.

  1. Sorry! I made English captions on my video editor for the last section but obviously they didn't generate!!! I will add them as soon as I get back from the garden! In the meantime I copy and pasted the translation below:

  2. My issue is I have 3 100L and 3 220L water butts, and once they are full, like now my probes is I can’t keep more but come summer I will need more so what do I do??

  3. Such an enjoyable video! Thank you, but tell me, how come some gardeners seem to get away with not netting their cabbages? 😊

  4. Fideo gwych arall! Dwi'n edrych malen I gynlluno am y flwyddyn nesaf hefyd… a dwi methu aros i ddechrau hadau ac I weld pa mathau Newydd o blanhigion nai ddod am draws!
    Blwyddyn Newydd dda I chi!

  5. Fab video. If Huw thinks he’s great then that’s good enough for me!! subscribed. 👍👍

  6. "It was supposed to be a cut-flower garden and then I got carried away…" well, that's the way to do it, right? I feel like this could be on the cover of every garden journal I ever owned…

  7. I loved the last bit! That’s the most Welch I’ve ever heard spoken, at least in a conversation. It’s great that you are keeping the language alive.
Here in the US, there are many languages that are dying out. Generations of American Indian children were forced to go to boarding schools, where they were punished severely for speaking their native languages. While things have improved, there are too few people left who can fluently speak their mother tongue. It has gotten to the point that more people can speak fictional languages, such as Klingon, than can speak certain Native American languages. I’m glad that the Welch language is being preserved through people like you and Adam!
Have you considered posting Welch versions of your videos? I mean, don’t stop making videos in English, but I think it would be a great service to the people of Wales to have gardening videos in the Welch language as well!

  8. Wonderful! I enjoyed the first visit to Adam’s garden. The quality of your videos and guests is amazing. It’s pure joy to watch.

  9. Diolch am sgwrsio yn y Gymraeg hogiau. Wedi mwynhau eich sgwrs yn fawr iawn. Ysbrydoliaeth i ailgydio yn y garddio eleni. Dwi erioed wedi "commentio" ar fideos You Tube o'r blaen ond oni'n teimlo'n gryf y ddylsa fi wneud i'r fideo yma. Diolch.

  10. my god I love Adam! Enjoyed the first video so much, and saw it for the first time just last week – such a nice surprise to see him here again!

  11. So looking forward to watching. I've looked at the last video I don't know how many times and absolutely love it!! Amazing garden

  12. OMG, Huw, your best video ever! I'm completely charmed by Adam, untranslated Welsh and all. It's funny in part because here in California we have had years of severe drought and now suddenly we have REAL rain and may reach our annual norm in mid-January. We are as green as Wales right now. For the moment.

  13. Absolutely Love all Your Videos Especially this One, Very nice to just to have a little chat of different things not everyone have went through or everything everyone went through lol the last few grow seasons where I am has been intense, and I'm a long time Gardner it was stressful for mine, I could imagine new gardeners out there would have been frustrating for them, dont give up. ( I always recommend newbys to watch your videos you make your content easy to watch for all,I'm have a new phone and log ins so I made sure I am now subscribed fully to Your channel and signed up for Adam's channel as well )🌱🌿💚 Happy Gardening Everyone

  14. This has made me feel a lot better about my very disappointing first year of crops (despite the plants looking great). I started in 2022 and it’s been a challenge! (and thank you for returning to Adam’s garden. He’s so brilliant to watch).

  15. Who else watched until the end even though they had no idea what was going on? 😂😂😂

  16. I absolutely loved having a catch up in the garden Huw and a huge thanks to you for the opportunity to film and capture the garden last summer 😃

Only 8 weeks until spring and I can't wait!

Thanks to everyone for their positive comments regarding our use of Welsh as well. In fact both Huw and I speak Welsh as our main language when we catch up and wanted to show this in the video 😊

Diolch o galon am ddod i'r ardd i ddala lan am sgwrs Huw 😃 ac am ddal y cyfan mor hyfryd ar fideo hefyd 😃

  17. I enjoyed every second of this video. ❤️ Why Huw doesn't have a million dollar contract with his own television show is beyond me… Someone do something!!!!😊

  18. That was so awesome, what a way to start a new year. Thank you, Huw I enjoy your shows and I really enjoy Adam I did not realize he had his own show also. So, I liked it his garden is so beautiful. I have watched the 1st one several times on your channel. I live in the SW of Oregon USA, and we are going to have another atmospheric river for the next week again and the snow in the mts and wind omg they have been between 30 to 60 mph. I live in the beautiful Rogue River Valley, and we usually do not have this high of winds. Just thankful for the rain and snow so many forest fires the last few years. We lost 2300 homes it will be 3 years ago in September. So, I never complain about the rain I just sigh when it's 2 weeks in a row. Any way just wanted to let you know that I have been enjoying your shows for years now. Have a blessed week ahead.

  19. Studies show you will have less cognitive deficits in your later years if you learn a second language. Brilliant chat fellows!

  20. Is English his first language? What accent is that? Lol I need captions

  21. Braf i weld chwi eich dau. Rhaglen iawn . Ond beth amdano rhewlaw mis Rhagfyr ? / Great to see you both, good program. But what about the freezing rain in December ? I've lost most of my rosemarys and wait to see what else. Even the Red Russian Kale took a beating after -15C. My fault for moving back to the rain forest and planting experimentaly

  22. OMG, you are both so adorable! Im in mid-Wales on the Shropshire border, currently battling river flood and rising ground water, but my kitchen garden will be revived soon! 'Ive subscribed to Adam's channel too!

  23. This is the way of gardening I like the most, two top notch gardeners having a conversation, doing nothing, in the middle of a blooming garden.

  24. Nice chat in the garden fella's. Zone 4b here in Canada and it's been getting warmer too, I'm almost tempted to say it's a zone 5 this year. Working on some more water storage as soon as the weather permits in April, going to pump water from the pond up to some tanks above the garden as my seasons are getting drier also. Anyways I'm getting the gardeners itch here and will be starting a few things this month. Just getting the grow op ready and organizing seeds, soils, trays, fertilizers…etc. for next week first sow. Sweet potato, leeks and brussels sprouts is first this month to be sown in mid to late Jan. Happy gardening everyone.
