We have had several of these, what is inconsistant with them is furbies will kinda lose their voice doing absolutely nothing we had that happen with like 2 – however I once backed over a Furby he woke up and started talking i didn't actually hurt him at all
sometimes you could smack it really hard and furbies would freak out and start speaking computer language that sounded all glitched but they go right back to normal when u reset em.
Can you do a video on monster high please thank you ❤️
I was at wards working when they came out , we was giving out tickets for people to buy them
Do a video on Jack in the box.
So furbies we’re the original nft scam
Long furbys will be the next incarnation
they ARE adorable
I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment, but would you be able to do a video on the fashion brand Coach? I do not understand why their purses are still expensive to this day.
Do a video on Vibram shoe soles! Why are they used on nearly all outdoor shoes?
I still have two working Furbies that I bought that year. I lucked out, ordering some from Fingerhut just as they were getting scarce. My girlfriend at the time was very happy with me.
My brother and I both had one back when they first came out. Creepy enough they started talking in the middle of the night. Batteries were immediately taken out and they were thrown in the closet.
Can we just start a list of toys that were waaaay too in demand for dumb reasons for Company Man to comment on? He already did Beanie Babies, so lets have a go…
Cabbage Patch Kids
Tickle Me Elmo
Tamagatchi
Edit: This is what happens when both your memory is shit and you haven't seen the video all the way though yet. He mentions the Tamagachi and he did a video on the Cabbage Patch Kids. I saw that video, too. I am such a dumbass.
My little sister loved them. They were so annoying! I wanted to drown them… but after watching Gremlins…. I was afraid of getting them wet!
These little goblins felt like real AI creatures, on the cusp of the singularity! We were dumb kids, and we didn't know you had to put them to sleep apparently, cuz those fuzzy little bastards squawked all night long. I seem to remember them being off or quiet for long periods of time then randomly from underneath stuff just start yapping incoherently. I have one vivid memory playing piano with several surrounding me as an audience, while we watched Austin Powers together 😀
Five nights at Furbys
My Bubbie gave me one when I was in High School during the late 90s. That thing was creepy. It would start talking in the middle of the night. To get some sleep I put it in a drawer (gently placed for the record) and forgot about it. When I pulled Furby out some time later he was dead. I'm talking nothing would wake this thing up at all and yes I'm including a battery change. One of my friends too tried some "Fur-botamy" with a screw driver to try and fix him to no avail.
I was 7/8 when these things were popular. I cant explain the appeal but EVERYONE at school had to have them. They were the coolest things. Until you couldn't turn them off at night. It was creepy when those things started going off in the dark
How does furby work
I had one that my cousin gave us in 1999 when I was 7 and it was wild. Alot of fun but within a year or so of course new fads games etc etc came out so it got relegated to the closet. Idk when but when I was in my early 20s I heard some weird speaking in my basement. Thought an intruder was in there, but when I went to check it out, it was the furby. Get this, it only had one battery in it, and the battery was the same one from 1999, and it had corrosive battery stuff all inside it, yet it was still making noise, let alone by itself. It's probably one of the creepiest stories ive ever had happen to me.
Also I worked in a toy store around 2015 2016 and the hatchimals was almost identical to how the furbys played out. Moms and dads coming in swarming the store for them, we couldn't keep them stocked at all. One day we started to get scalpers so we had to limit to 2 per customer and one scalper brought a literal wide bed semi to buy out all of our hatchimals and we didn't even have that much inventory of them.
Moral of the story, screw scalpers. Low life scum.
"There was no lawsuit" "Things were sketchy" =
Warner to Hasbro: Nice toy you've got there, shame it looks like a winnable lawsuit on our side. Hasbro: share profit? Warner: Sure!
Doesn't this sort of business take place every day?
My brother begged for one that Christmas and actually got it. Within a matter of minutes the excitement was gone and he was over it. So as children do, he decided that he needed to skin the poor thing leaving an extra terrifying furless black demon robot speaking random gibberish all day. Last I remember he had created some form of a noose and hung the demon robot from the balcony. Oh the joys Furby brought…
Working in woolworths 1999 Christmas ohh my Every other customer, any furbys left.
I remember kicking one across the room at my girlfriends place and I got yelled at by her. I don’t miss either of them.
