This is approximately 3-4 weeks before my last spring frost date. Join me for a walk through my spring garden at my home. I will show you real examples, “hands – on” tips and tricks, to get your garden off to a good start. I have many things you may like to know such as my 2 favorite herbs to grow in the spring, they’re SOW easy to grow when sown directly into the ground because they do not transplant well. We’ll take a look at a super easy and inexpensive way to repurpose some every day items to sow seeds into your square foot garden too! I have much more to share with you and I hope you find the information helpful and enjoyable. Likes and shares are always very much appreciated. Enjoy!

  1. I'm doing shallots for first time this year and they aren't doing very well. Everything else in the bed (onions, garlic, chives) is doing fine though.

  2. You have a lovely place Donna. That deck is  so organized and clean . Here in London today was 71° which was warm for Early April, but last night was as low as 39°f . So I cant put much out yet. Be well

  3. It looks like your growing season is off to a great start. Regarding rabbits — there is more than one kind of garden harvest….    : )

  4. Have been busy for the past two days and our garden is now planted.  It's not nearly as big as yours and we are dealing with raised beds.  Everything looks so pretty!  Here in Alabama the trees have their leaves and our frost date is Aprl15 (I checked the 10 day forecast and we were good to go).  I enjoy gaining knowledge from you–thank you so much for sharing with us.

  5. Donna, a lot of good hints and tips, thanks so much!  Getting close to being able to start tomatoes and peppers soon (in the house) as we have a late last frost each year!  Can't wait!  Take care, Sher

  6. Damned mice get after my young pea plants all the time. Aphids ate my Napa cabbage last year. Your chives look yummy Maybe this year for me. I should know this but what's the deal with the buried jugs, Donna?

  7. It's so good you plan your activities around the rains, makes it easy not watering and plants do love rain. Do you even need to water after the snow melts? It must replenish the ground for a while?

It's just soothing to watch your videos, all the ruffled feathers settle down:) . Next 3 to 4 months is video watching time for me till I restart my new season again in August 2015. I'm eagerly awaiting your year round lettuce growing system video.

  8. Donna, your garden looks beautiful!  I have been a subscriber for several years now and just love your videos and all of the information that you give.  🙂  I love the garden tours.  Will you be gardening again at the cabin this year?

  9. Donna, you're garden is looking really good for so early.  What do you do to keep the grass out of your beds?  Pull it by hand or what?

  10. Thanks for such an informative video.

I am just curious, are you from Australia?

  11. Donna, I found a onion sprouting in my cupboard, so I planted it. Then the onion split into 4 plants, but don't know if there will be a onion ball under ground.  Have you ever planted and harvest onions this way?
