Cynoglossum amabile
So they will not grow in Arizona?
Not very helpful at all, no real information about growing them other than climate. You didn’t mention how big the can grow and to plant them either in the ground or in there own pots as the can branch out and strangle smaller plants if planted together in pots. No mention of how to collect seeds, or even what the seed pots look like (that was the information I was after since the one video wasn’t clear enough to see them). You speak about them like they aren’t alive, like they are nothing but a specimen to be studied, and you aren’t even doing that very well if this video is anything to go by. You gave no information about soil types they like, lucky that their not picky flowers when it come to soil, or you’d have just killed the plants of every beginner watching this and they would have blamed themselves. Nature is a living being and responds to love just like us, you love your garden and it will bloom as best it can, it is not a specimen to be studied. It is a living being that you get to know as you spend time together.
Oh and just so you know, there’s no point telling people to give them plenty of drainage if your not going to show them an example. Anyone watching this is either a beginner or like me, looking for specific information. If there a beginner there not going to know how to give them good drainage unless there shown examples, making this video completely pointless. To give them Good drainage you need to either put gravel in the bottom of the pots. Or use a compost that has a lot of sand added to it, like john nines no 2 potting on compost. The compost and sand mixture is very good for them since it helps the water drain fast. The don’t grow upright at all, the Centre grows upright and the outer stalks grow sideways and branch out like trees do. To keep them catered you will need to tie them to a garden cane, they do well in garden troughs but it’s best to plant them in there own pots since there tendency to Branch out will strangle small plants. Their roots spread outwards and they really dig into the soil, so the roots can also strangle any plants you plant them with. Give the right information to people instead of brainwashing people into thinking they aren’t green fingered. All anyone needs to be good at gardening is love and commitment, it come more natural to some than others but it doesn’t mean commitment won’t reward you in the end with a beautiful garden. Treat your garden like your friend and it will bloom with all the love you show it, treat it like a dead resource and expect your garden to shower you with hatred. That’s the reason home grown veg always has a more potent taste than mass produced s#*t. Because home grown is grown with love, not sprayed like a resource and then ignored until the next feed time or harvest. A home grower checks on them regularly, they prune the dead foliage to make room for new growth, they water them when they need it not when it’s convenient. They feed them with what the plants like, not with what’s convenient for the business. False information like this is the reason people are being brainwashed into loosing their confidence and believing they aren’t green fingered.
