I learned about water germination at the time I was growing a lot of milkweed to raise Monarch Butterfly. Since then I applied this method for hard to germinate seeds, and seeds with tough shells. Make sure you change water everyday, keep the temperature of the water just right (too warm will cook the seeds), and don’t soak the seeds too long (over 7 days). At the time I tested this method, I used mix seeds – seeds matured on plant as well as the ones dried in the pod after harvest. So unfortunately I can’t really say the percentage of success yet. When I try again with all mature seeds, I will update this description.
I had 10+ seedlings from my experiment. Roughly about 40-50% if I have to guess. And they continue to grow nicely under dome, growlight, on top of heat mat.
