  1. At this point, I like the neighbor's perspective? What EXACTLY are they DOING over there? Lol! Right? It's really coming along. Exciting to get a porch & thank God it's in FL! Not IN or MI, blek. We're cloudy and misty and cold and w.e.t. Miss you though!! Disclaimer: No Actual Arachnids and/or arachnid ovum were harmed in the making of this video… ; I

  2. hello, the entry in Japanese is called a
    Genkan

Genkan (玄関) are traditional Japanese entryway areas for a house, apartment, or building, a combination of a porch and a doormat. It is usually located inside the building directly in front of the door. The primary function of genkan is for the removal of shoes before entering the main part of the house or building. I love Japanese homes, especially the very traditional , old fashion ones. They have a lot of great ideas that are suitable for all homes. On Begin Japanology, they have a lot of great information and show very tradditional homes. Many have been abandandoned and need work…have you ever considered Japannnn? Im not Japanese but I love their culture and many of their tradition, their love of tradition.

  3. Ok, you know I never got love what your doing, its always logical and rational . Its in great taste, BUT , that guy with the beard you have hanging around is FREAKING ME OUT! WHO, WHAT IS HE SUPPOSE TO BE? LOL.

  4. hey, give that guy with the white hair a saw and hammer and tell him to get busy !! he's just standing around doing nothing ! ‼‼‼‼🤓🤠😄😛😛

  5. 👏Hi from Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, You have made your home home with the help of the family. It is New Year's Eve here in Australia and I pray all your wishes come true. Keep up the good work and you will go far. I love how you treat your treat your family as well, you show love and respect towards them. I love your ideas for the back porch, I do hope you continue with your videos.🌌

  6. Very satisfying seeing the old going! It’s going to be so nice when you’re done! The Japanese inspired design to your levels will keep it so clean. Stan is just supervising.

  7. Doug, You and your family are doing awesome work and making progress! I see that you still have the dummy man, why not put a hat on him? It would make him more realistic. 🙂

  8. Doug, just curious here, seeing that spider, have you came across Black Widows much ??, also Brown Recluse ???, Yellow Sac Spider ???, all venomous. Just thinking about Maverick and Belle out in those woods and all of that old wood laying about………always great content and great carpentry……….. Ashley is a big part of it all with you !!!, Ashley, you go girl !!!!!

  9. ??? WITH ALL THE TIME MONEY AND WORK YOU HAVE INVESTED WOULD BUILDING A BRAND NEW HOUSE BEEN A BETTER OPTION? LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!

  10. The porch is going to be so nice! I like the "dirty" and "clean" levels. That will be nice. I love how you called Belle to come save the spider and her egg sac. That's something my daughter and I would do.❤️.

  11. Well wishing you all a prosperous & Healthy New Year!!
    Omg! Ash & Doug
I think doing this porch was one of your most challenging diy or that I can recall. Also regarding the 🕷 (wood spider) I seem to recall Ash & Belle sometime ago with a similar creature lol.
I would have died right on the spot lol.

  12. I am surprised that your daughter and wife are not doing more with you. They could help tear down They could cut notches after you show them how to do it.
Question. What are you doing with the lumber you are taking out and off of the house?

  13. When did Ashley cut her hair? She looks so different with it short! Also, it's good to see Stan found some time to help out again. LOL!

  14. Happy New Year, guys !!! Thanks for all te GREAT videos in 2022!!! 🤠🍓🤗😃🥰

  15. I’m sorry but I have to say it, Stan really needs to having a talking to. He’s just not pulling his weight. 😂 as we say over here, he needs to “shape up or ship out”. 😂😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

  16. I like your haircut Ashley. It’s really cute! Huuuuge job done right like y’all always do. I love the Japanese style of flooring it’s really nice! God bless y’all 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸

  17. I get what you’re doing with the raised portion of the back porch. I’m wondering, though, if it won’t be difficult for Ashley to reach inside your washer from the lower level? I know she’s not a tall person. Neither am I. My washer is at normal floor level and I need a grabber to reach the bottom… #shortgirlproblems 😁

  18. Take a video about this , The world is now ruled by one community of people, the world Satanic elite, you can also call them the committee to meet the Antichrist and prevent the 2nd coming of Jesus, Trump called them the deep state, at the moment it consists of about 10,000 people, the main ones there are Rockefellers, Rothschilds, Windsors, Baruchs, they, their ancestors, descendants and other people who enter there have the mark of Lucifer, which, if they bring the antichrist and do not allow the 2nd coming, they will receive eternal life after the x hour, and the rest of humanity, for all the time that they have lived, they won't get anything, so all people should know about the existence of a world government

  19. Look at how much extra belt there is for your resperator pack… LOL, You are a twig compared to me, I'm a big guy and had to extend mine. Can you beleive 3M wanted $85 for an extension belt?? I made my own.

  20. @12:25, i'm sorry, but that "awww" cracked me up, like a game effect when you loose a life. Those were some tought windows though!

  21. Good work ! boy tuff jobs. You show a great deal of patience with all the rot I always enjoy your videos. Retired carpenter superintendent. On my hill top in. Sc

  22. Who's the guy with the beard and why is he standing around watching you do all the work and not helping?

  23. I had forgotten how screens use to be done in older years. I grew up in a southern home that was build in the 40's. And, our screens were just like that. Hangers at the top with a latch at the bottom. Memories.

  24. Ooooo, I'm going to like that screened porch tucked in to the corner of the house like that. Very nice!!

  25. If I were your neighbor and not a channel subscriber I would be freaking out when I hear the side of your house come crashing down. Do your neighbors ever come & look or ask what you are doing to the house? What a huge job you have created for your self. The whole house will be almost all brand new when you get thru with it. Great demo day.

  26. I have a three inch difference between mudroom into kitchen, that small rise keeps the degree from mudroom to enter into he rest of the home. That little bit really has an effect. I even changed the only bathroom entry from my master bedroom to entering from mudroom to get us as we come in from working the acreage and also privacy in our bedroom. Laundry is in the mudroom as well, so it really allows a "clean" space for the rest of the house. So doing the system you are doing with two layers is really a good idea.
