I'm happy this is finally posted…thought I'd never get to see this one. Thanks!
As a landscape architect of 36 years, I am very critical. This is very well designed! I wish I could see more of it but I cannot see any glaring mistakes. I especially love how they articulated the very back. By adding those glass screens, it adds interest and movement and depth to that back. If they had made the screens 2-3" smaller as they went back it would have forced a perspective or created an illusion, but they mitigate the BOX of the space. It gives me a sense that I am only seeing part of the garden. I use grass as a four season plant, since it does look good even in the winter, and doesn't overload with evergreens. The dark plant colors of paint are magic. VERY professional design and bear in mind that this is the worst it will ever look. Interior designers cannot do exteriors, I have designed for many of them, they are wonderful to work with since we speak the same language, but just approach the problem differently. I am watching this to learn how to do interiors! Congrats guys! I have never used pea gravel, it moves too much and is a hazard when it gets on a concrete drive, it is also hard to maintain, not easy to rake it. Stick to a gravel that will stay in place. Minor details. The screens could be turned into "water walls" fairly easy. I bet the owners now sit on the steps to have their morning coffee weather permitting. 😍
Everything is awesome, but there is no way im living next to a railroad. What if the train decides to derail 😟
