Jiffy Greenhouse Seedling Tray and a lot of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds are shown in this video. Jump starting my summer garden here on the Upper Cumberland Plateau. Here I am growing my own vegetables and fruits for my family. I walk you through how to plant, explain the back package information on the seed packet, and more. It’s the first time I’ve ever grown from seeds. Let’s go on this journey together!
I’ve done a container garden prior and had great success. I’m excited to do raised beds (roughly 256 sq. ft.) in our new backyard and more along the side fence on the side yard. Who knows! Maybe I’ll take over more of the backyard next year!

I bought my seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds link: https://www.rareseeds.com/
Baker Creek has a catalog you can order if you prefer. They also have flowers and other plants as well. A few of my seeds came from the local Lowes as well, which are hybrids.

The container I hold my seeds in is here: https://www.michaels.com/photo-and-craft-keeper-by-simply-tidy/10174559.html
You can buy them anywhere. It is a craft supplies/photo organizer.

Jiffy Greenhouse Kits are available at Walmart, Tractor Supply, Amazon, and more. The good thing about them is that you can buy the pellets un bulk off Amazon and reuse the trays. Personally, I’ll be investing in some more sturdy trays and higher greenhouse top. They should arrive this week.

The lights I am using are LED Plant Growing Light Bulbs in a clamp light with aluminum reflector. They are on for roughly 12-16 hours a day, after they start to sprout.

Hope this helps. Stay tune!

Cheers

  1. Tomatoes and hot peppers. I don’t think you will do well with your carrots in Jiffy pots. Carrot young roots tend not to like transplanting, and the jiffy pop will split the young carrot route because it’s a little bit too hard to get through and maintain a single route. Carrot should always go on the ground directly. And call me and I’ll tell you how to do that easily.
