Welcome to my usual monthly off grid homestead update from Central Portugal!
I feel like I accomplished quite a bit in December, despite the rains here in Portugal. But the rain has given me a good excuse for a couple things I didn’t finish! š
January will be all about the toolshed and I can’t wait to get going with this timber framing project. I’ll also eventually be using natural building techniques for the walls, but for January, my focus will be on the design and foundations, plus some pointing work and wood prep if I’m lucky.
I hope you enjoy this video! Thanks for watching, please consider subscribing if you haven’t already! š

Please could you list the details of the Portuguese study book you are using. I have been looking for one but all I've found are Brazilian Portuguese books.
Happy New Year. I've only just come across your channel but I want to ask, are you living in the building as it is?. I thought that would be a priority….?

Beautiful land ā¤ļø thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year Kirsty, I reckon that tool shed will be a game changer. You will behable to dance inside. š seriously I think 2023 will be a great year for you. š
Bring on the tool shed! Yay. Excited for you and Mikey. Thanks for all your videos, love what your doing. Happy new yearšš
On the right side of the front there is a blue tarp hanging down. What is it for? I admire what you do.
Good job! You got mostly green checks this month which is really impressive considering all the rain you've had.
Happy New Year.
Well done! Lots accomplished . Looking forward to seeing your wood-framing for your tool shed. Love n Blessings for the coming year. šš«š
Hearing you talk about a bigger master plan for the tool shed/ outdoor kitchen/ wood store etc. I think itās always good to plan ahead to save time, energy and money. Youāre great at drawing, just having a scale plan to mess around with on sketch up or even pen and paper ( that would be me) to avoid ending up with a tool shed does not relate to the rest of the space. I always think about lines of desire (so called in design parlance) access from house to wood store, can you wheel your bike out easily, how the kitchen will relate to table, avoid awkward narrow access when you have a few people moving around the space. Happy and interesting 2023 š„
For vine you may use passion fruit! In Southern California I grow them from cuttings! Passion Fruit vine is evergreen, flowers are beautiful and fruits are yummy! It is also very fast growing! You are accomplishing so much already!
It would be cheaper to have someone sharpen your chainsaw for you, perhaps once a year.
Thanks for all your inspo
Canāt wait to see what you come up with for your tool shed
Thank you for sharing š
Thatās a lot of progress and I hope youāre feeling good about it. I think that tool shed will be a great relief once itās done! Happy new year to you!
Keep up the good work!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year! Once you point the wall it will be so pretty, dont cover it up. You can put the tool shedd at the other side of your hang out area. Then tie that in with the pergola to the house. Just an idea. Lots of work either way. Look forward to seeing your wonderful wood working.š
Your videos are my therapy! Happy new year!
Happy New Year to you too ana friend Magi!
I admire your diligent. I can imagine the feeling of completion when all is said and done. I love the shed idea. How about putting the bathroom between the house and the shed, that way you will not have to walk too far and bathroom will be more accessible? Just a thoughtā¦.Looking forward to seeing that shed process. Keep up the great work.
I think u need a 30 Sec intro clip for every video you put⦠new year sounds like the right time to make a repetitive intro clip for your videos.
Hi kirsty, happy new year to you. Looking foward to seeing how you develope your home and land. You are doing great. As someone who has mental health issues with anxiety and depression,i look foward to watching your channel.
