Happy New Year Garden Gals and Guys! In today’s video I’m showing you how and why I’m going to tackle soil blocking while starting seeds in the new year! I’ll still be using cell trays as well to ensure success, but after much research, I’ve decided I want to give it a go and bring ya’ll along for the ride! I’m in zone 5B and will be starting Lisianthus around mid-January, so I’m gathering up supplies to get started and, hopefully, ensure success!
I’ve linked the specific compost and soil blocks that I’m using below for your convenience.

Hi Steph and Happy New Year! I tried soil blocking at a demo at my local hydro supply store. The larger soil blocker takes quite a bit of strength to release the blocks. Nive to have a handy hubby to spray it. Curious if that works for you. Good luck!
Hi steph, i did put my order of soil block at jonnys.and so excited and looking forward to try that method..😊happy new year.
Tried soil blocks for my fall lettuce this year for the first time. Works great!!! Looking forward to using for my flowers. Can't wait to get started!!!
