The Best Bad Game Ever Made

Twitter: @APointlessOne

Deadly premonition, the most critically polarising horror game ever made, some people hate it, others love, needless to say, it’s one of the craziest games ever.

Inspired by twin peaks, we take the role of FBI agent York, as he tries to hunt down the raincoat killer.

  1. Of all the things to find odd about this game, I find myself wondering why Emily's character model is the best made one. Seriously, look at it in comparison to every single other and she has the best looking one all around. It even kind of animates the best.

  2. Loving this type of content, man. Thanks for going through all the work to make such a detailed video about such an odd game.

  3. ..oh boy.. this game. good? bad? i know its the weirdest thing ive ever played

  4. I..
    This game is just perfect.
The devs knew what they were doing and they did it right.
The bosses transformations though lmfaooo I love it!

  5. You said living with his dead mother could be a reference to american psycho but you mean its a reference to psycho. American psycho is the movie with Christian bale playing patrick bateman the murderous psychopath businessman.

  6. Deadly Premonition is what led me to check out Twin Peaks, it only cost 20 bucks on release, and I was engaged the entire time by all the madness and hilarity, so I have a lot of fond memories of it.

Too bad the PC port is broken to THIS DAY, and Deadly Premonition 2 is the Zoolander 2 of videogames — still have yet to finish that one.

  7. I am deeply upset that you didn't mention York talking about his Tom & Jerry BSDM headcanons in his intro cutscene. Absolutely pivotal character moment if you ask me

  8. I know eh this is a great game. So derpy ( do people use that word still? Well thats what it is)

  9. 20 minutes in the video and I was already struggling hard with the goofy music in this mystery game. Anyway, good vid <3

  10. As always the jokes are incredible. Listening to you is just pure bliss! Wish you a good 2023!

  11. I hated deadly premonition until northernlion played through it. This game was made for him and watching him have a back and forth with francis york morgan over movie trivia was a fever dream

  12. Never got round to playing it even tho I own it on steam. Really appreciate the video on it! Please do the sequel too

  13. Can we just acknowledge the music for a second? The happy whistle song specifically. It’s just so out of place and sounds like a generic royalty free song but at the same time also fits in because of how weird the rest of the game is.

  14. I thought you added the music but it being in the game wtf its not right it doesn't fit in😂

  15. I absolutely love how fucking terrible this game is its so silly I can’t ever say I wouldn’t play it again even with its bugs. I recently got the switch version and I’m having a fucking blast. The second one is good (for DP terms) as well.

  16. The story of the first game is absolutely top notch. The plot, the characters the atmosphere and the final plot twist are all exceptional. This story would make an absolute gem of a tv series. Lot's of strong moments as well.

My one complaint about this game is that it would be so much better if it took itself seriously. Some music sequences are super weird, same with some interactions with the residents. There's a stark contrast between the seriousness of the story and some events on the screen and that can make it seem a lot of goofy some times.

Other than that on the mystery part this game is awesome. The chasing sequences are very intense and the final revelation of the true enemy is truly terrifying.

  17. I've always felt that TRUE DETECTIVE season 1 was also a spiritual successor to that game . Too many parallels between the villains, protagonists, and plot points like Carcossa in true detective the fictional place the villain sought to reach and the parallel dimension in the game.

  18. On release, James Stephanie Sterling gave Deadly Premonition a 10/10, in a sea of otherwise middling to critical reviews. Truly ahead of their time.
