I remember watching that match and not knowing how great the Russian Alexander karelin was he was so great in fact that the president of the ioc Juan Antonio samarich was going to personally give him his fourth Olympic gold medal and thank him for being a great champion until he lost to rulon Gardner who ended up and a snowstorm blizzard back home after the Olympics and I think he lost one of his toes to frostbite if I recall it was a long time ago.

"Shorts" are lame Chael. Thought you were cooler than this.
Rulon Gardner fought in Pride in 2004 and won.
How can he come back 22-23 years later
He was on The Biggest Loser also.
Deceptive physique on par with Josh Barnett
I thought that was 1996.
I remember him. He’s very handsome, almost as handsome as Jakey.
I remeber!!
I remember Kurt Angle calling him out for a match in the WWF right after the Olympics.
Karelin looks like he took part in that Russia “vitamin” scandal I’ll be honest. Probably wasn’t a single clean Russian athlete at those games.
I remember him from his fight in PRIDE against Yoshida, it was the first ever MMA match between former Olympic medalists.
Can’t forget about the man who beat Karelin
I remember Rulon beat Karelin on some garbage technicality they started that year
Ya he lived 45 min down the road and woulp out at wrestling practice lost his toes getting lost on a sled
“Greatest upset ever” “most feared man in the history of sport” 😂😂😂 chael loves to exaggerate
