  1. 🖼 Are tiny tanks considered fish abuse?

I’ve been seeing more and more tiny alcohol bottle & vase “tanks” recently so I thought I’d ask you this: do you consider fish to be decorations?

Nowadays, it’s so normal to see fish in tiny spaces as a decorative piece to liven up a space, but in reality there is war happening in the “tank” that’s not visible to our eyes (ammonia poisoning). I hope this video brings awareness to this issue and allows new fish keepers to realize that these tanks are not suitable for a fish to thrive in.

P.S. I’m setting up a self-sustaining moina culture (fish food) habitat in this video. It has no mechanical filter, heater, or co2. It will be used as a home for the moina to reproduce and grow so I’ll always have a steady supply of live food for the guppies! 🙂

  2. This video reminds me of this one person on yt that brags about their toilet bowl fish tank. It's awful since fish are living beings

  3. Hold on I consider fish to be decorations but not throwing them in a tiny little space! they’re like a decoration to your room whom u can buy new things for to decorate even more 😄 and feed and clean so that even tho your depressed at least you’re taking care of something which ultimately makes you feel better….. so they’re like the decoration that u take care of and treasure as if it’s vintage and is not replaceable

  4. Of course fish tanks are decor. Why the hell else would you have one lmao. Now does that make improper fish housing ok or cool, no, absolutely not but the entire idea of a fish tank in the house is to be able to view a different scene of nature imo

  5. My friends fish are in a gum all machine and massive clear Lego box. They got the made for fish and the gum ball machine doesn’t dispense anything so ig they’re good🤷🏽‍♀️

  6. My Bette fish is in a 15L tank so it’s big!!! Mum wanted it in a little 2L tank i kept saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOO she listened 😆

  7. I once saw a person put 2 guppies in a light bulb ornament with fake rocks and plants with regular tap water. No filtration, no aeration, nothing. I was so enraged thag theu would do something like that and it was even more enraging that they calls it decor.

  8. I only use them as decoration as in a space to be filled and putting decor in the tanks well caring for them so I can't believe people actually put them in FLOWER VASES.

  9. I mean I see it as a beneficial type relationship. We give them a carefree comfortable life and they give us a pretty view aka decoration.

  10. I mean I do consider them a decoration, but a living decoration that needs very specific and special care. I’d call them a decoration because a nice, well kept, clean tank is a very nice decoration for a room, and they’re also decorative pets in the way that they are not interactive pets, not something you can play with or interact with much (although I have seen some fish that do tricks). I think it’s fine to consider them a decoration, that is if you keep in mind these are living creatures that you shouldn’t shove into a bottle with bright pink gravel and no plants. A naturalistic set up, with good lighting and a filter to keep the tank sparkling clean is not only better for their health, but also FAR FAR FAAAARRR prettier in my opinion.
