The comparison between the unheated greenhouse, the low tunnel, and a garden with no protection during the artic blast aka the big freeze is amazing!
Sandy Bottom Homestead was started to supplement our food supply. By Gardening and raising chickens we have been able to meet that goal and start to surpass it. Follow us as we continue to build out our homestead and become better gardeners.

  1. Most Eve survived. I only had my Swiss Chard that was uncovered in my screened patio die. My green onions in that same location froze, but some seem to be bouncing back. My beds were covered with moving blankets. All survived. And my brow bags that I put in my garage did fine. So thankful I didn’t lose much. Glad some of your plants survived!
