My studio, my paradise, the place that brings me most peace✨ I’ve been working out of every house I’ve lived in for 5 years now, working out of this one for 1 year. This is my dream life. I could have rented out a studio space for $800+ but this house had enough square footage that I could make the Florida room my studio. It is hard making a living as an artist, you wear every hat, you have to be making new work all the time, and you always have to stay ahead. My artist mind loves to experiment, and sometimes I hit a major burn out. Not having overhead is important to your beginnings. If you’re still in self discovery mode (which can take years) don’t spend money on a space, make what you have work until you find your groove and you’re making money. It is wonderful to make art in a comfort state, you will find your style that way! I feel like there is a lot of pressure on emerging artists to have the perfect studio, when you already have the perfect studio.
