Awesome video!!! I got one side of my small garden setup with the shade cloth and reed fencing now but what I'm thinking I may do is buy one of those sun shades and anchor it to the house and fence and completely cover the garden until late fall. They are pretty affordable and should be easy to take down for winter. We shall see! You and your garden are a total inspiration to me!!!
Nice video. I know what you mean about sunburn. I once had May hair braided while at the beach and got sunburn it hurt. True about the tomatoes.
120 😮 where do you get your shade cloth from?
It was 90 here yesterday and I was out shading the chickens and watering everything extra. We rarely get over 100 here so 90's is hot for us. Your garden is awesome, do you have issues with scorpions? My sister lives in the Phoenix area and won't plant stuff because she is afraid of the scorpions (or that is her excuse anyways).
Man you are BRAVE to be out in 120 heat 😬
Put a hat on!! lol. Your head is going to look like a tomato. Mr. Lovato with a head lookin like a tomat -0 It is too dang hot there! Once again..Great job!
Dude I seen you melt at least an inch during this video. Garden is looking super cool. Does it always get that hot every summer? Your shade cloth idea is great! You have me thinking about putting some across the top of all my racks. Don't know if you ever watched any of garden updates but I think it would work out great! Stay cool as you can brother!!! Oh your pumpkins are looking ever so good! Couple folks need to be paying attention… We will not say his or her name….LOL
Never knew about shade cloth before watching you. I always learn new stuff about gardening from you, hugs brother!
Awwww you're a good chicken daddy!
Trying to watch this inside a plane waiting for take off! Not working – guess I got to wait until we land!
You are braver than me i sat in front of the AC all day today! Still was barley able to get house cooler than 85 today!
Still Garden is looking really good!
Shade cloth really is the key here in the summer it looks like. I really have never used it but may have to make the investment. Great setup!!
DAAAAAAAANG!!! Those pumpkins are AMAZING!!! But lookout!! Mine broke ground already today!! 😉 They're on a move! hehe. Your garden looks absolutely AHMAZING!!! I'm just sayin', I'd MELT down there!!! It is BLAZIN'!!! No thanks! Come on up for a cool wave! hehe
I live in the Coachella valley and man i feel you it got to 120 on Monday here and my Tomatoe plant are roasted in full sun

I do not ever want to deal with this heat, but I am impressed at your efforts. Here in Oregon we've had more cool weather than we counted on. Edamame is not happy, but the pumpkin babies are growing well. Thanks for the video, loved seeing your chickens in the desert!
you are set up for the heat thats for sure – great way to set up your garden… my celery is maybe a half inch tall – lol… really super setup for the chickens – great ideas for me – really great ideas – love this video!
Great job Rob!!! You have such amazing skills!! And I want tell you , take shower early in the morning before the King Sun come out to knock down the heat and drink alot of water. You're a Great Mr gardener of all season!! Have a blessed morning! ❤

Happy Birthday to ya.. Love your gardens. Take Care & stay cool… My friend! 🙂
Omg, I could not deal with that heat. 95 and excessive humidity does me in as is! 😮
Wow! This is my goal, right here! My poor plants are struggling… when do you plant your celery seeds?
Good job getting the garden through the heat wave! Pumpkins looking good and that kale looks like a tree! Once my head got so burned it looked like Frosted Flakes!
Your garden is doing great! My plants are dying at 96F lol. I need to shade them 😊
Garden is looking great, but where is your hat Rob?
Don't burn alive!!!
What an amazing garden you have! I'm so jealous and now inspired to make my 1/4 acre backyard even better. Shade is what I need! Stay cool!
Tucson
Beautiful garden Rob! If only I had your green thumb! Keep up the good work!
Looks great! Keep up on all the hard work. You mentioned having gophers. What do you plant directly in ground that gophers will not touch? We are trying to experiment at the garden and find out on our end.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Do you have a recommended place to buy the shade fabric?
