  7. I doubt that the locals were sympathetic at all to a lord of the manor utterly bankrupting the manor on which they depended for a livelihood. 'Inclusivity' is a 21st century PC construct and a luxury the tenants on an estate don't give a damn about. History from the perspective of the rich academicians putting values into the mouths of the poor.
