Tojo-tei is a nationally designated important cultural property and site of scenic beauty.

It’s a former residence of Tokugawa Akitake, the younger brother of Japan’s last Shogun Tokugawa Yoshinobu

Akitake was expected to be the next Shogun after Yoshinubo retired, but the Edo era or shogunate era had already ended.
