  1. Thank you gentlemen for another successful and helpful conversation. I've learned so much in many different areas of life,, not just health and fitness,, from being a mindpump listener. Thank you for what you guys do day in and day out.

  2. I've recently subscribed to your channel looking for help to lose some body fat(about 20lbs over)I do have a gym subscription that I've had since February 2022 but I don't really know what I'm doing, haven't seen much progress so I got discouraged and put my membership on hold…I need help, I'm 62 a Healthcare worker and I just want to get in shape and stay that way…help…please🙏🙏🙏
Wishing all of you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ☃️🎅🎄

  3. Absolutely love the conversations of fatherhood on theses podcasts!! They are needed in this culture just as much as the conversations on health and fitness are!!

  4. When I was a kid I loved RPG's especially Final Fantasy. I have Final Fantasy for every game platform. I rarely play them but every once in a while it is still fun

  5. I suffer from neuropathy and use video games for pain management. I have a super active mind and my body can't be, video games help me tremendously with this. But I do agree that at some point you gotta grow up and not let it consume your life.

  6. I love how these guys talk about Whatever is in the tile FIRST…. many sneaky podcasters hide it in the middle or end of the video…. and we don't need to hear all that stuff we are not interested in. I mean, it is the TITLE that makes me click on CERTAIN videos, I don't click on ALL videos, not even for these great guys. Content is MOSTLY great, time is limited.

  7. Sal in old man mode is hilarious!! Video game industry is no longer "just" for kids and I myself was amazed how girls and regular people engage on them nowdays. That comment might have a little lack of perspective I think. It opens up for a great discussion if you ask me.

  8. I’m with Sal on the video games. Especially multiplayer. Can ruin relationships. I’m not totally against them but think they should be used in moderation like anything else

  9. Like to thank mindpump I've been strong program for several weeks preparing for a wedding. Wouldn't you know it a elderly lady was being eaten by a rogue moose at this wedding. Know did I save her no but I easily threw several young toddler's out of my way easily making my way to safety these kids are pretty hefty these days thanks mindpump 💪 😁

  10. I love the episode but wanted to make a comment on the video game discussion. While I agree that in a lot of cases video games are a waste of time, I do think you shouldn’t toss the entire medium to being childish. There is some nuance here and it isn’t as black and white of a point.

There is an entire social and shared experience you can have with people. During the lockdowns, it was one of the ways for my friends to connect and have a shared experience together. It’s also been a way to connect with people from all over the world and make new friends with different view points about the world.

As well, games can be a powerful device for story telling and messaging. A video game story changed my life in pushing me to start working out and going to the gym. Something most social media and conventional media failed to do by that point.

While I do agree, there is a lot of issues with wasting your life on video games. I would argue the same for other forms of entertainment like TV, movies, fiction books, sports, etc. Just like those forms of media, it is important to create intention with it. If you are going in to “waste time” or look for a dopamine hit by following a gameplay loop, I would argue it is a waste of time. If you are going with the intention of seeing a really cool story or spending time with others, I would argue that it isn’t childish.

  11. Gaming world is destroying relationships because partners are saying its better then out socialising with the boys in pubs, and it's the 21st century and it's honestly breaking woman's hearts coz it's becoming an addiction to escape life and virtual world is better then normal rl world, and then the men get the girls in it so it's a vicious horrible cycle

  12. I was introduced to mind pump in 2015 from another personal trainer I worked with at a local AZ gym after a 5am conversation of “how can I add more value to my clients life?”. I started off as a personal trainer working morning/night shift, got promoted to lead personal trainer and eventually I got the opportunity to grand open a location as a PT manager where I was hiring/training PTs but I still had my hand on the pulse as a PT myself. MP has had a significant role in my professional and personal development. I’ve been in the game 6-7 years now and since covid I got furloughed but I joined the Navy, and I still train people I serve with

  13. Smoking weed and playing videogames is my reward for grinding all day there's no point to being successful if you have no free time to enjoy the fruits of your success.

  14. I've been a personal trainer almost 20 years and the only time I take off really is mid Dec – mid Jan. It'd be easy on my vacation to be lazy AF.

But for me even vacation mode doesn't mean lazy mode. So I force myself out of comfort zone and holiday relaxation to still workout 4x per week and get 10-15K steps every day.

  15. Am such a big fan of mind pump. Started my journey 8 months ago by going to the gym to build muscle. Its been such an amazing journey. I gained muscle, i look good and i really really feel good!!!Keep up the good work mind pump.❤❤❤❤❤

  16. Holaaaaa!!! I’m Clara from Argentina! I actually laugh out loud with your content. It’s WONDERFUL!! I was a sad circuit girl and now I’m a happy restaminuteminimum girl!! Huge gains so far. Running anabolic in the morning in the beautiful Argentinian summer. I can’t ask for more. Thanks! Binge listening every episode the last year. 🎉

  17. Another episode full of great content! I really appreciated the honest discussion about being intimidated at the gym, and for Sal’s being willing to share his negative experience with that one yoga class which shows how important it is to be supportive and encouraging of those who are new/inexperienced (the opposite of what that instructor did). And I completely agree that if the idea of going to the gym is too overwhelming and stressful that that person should hire a personal trainer, at least until that person feels more comfortable and confident. That’s how I began my journey with strength training. I would never ever go near the weight area in the gym in college and grad school, and last year when I wanted to try weight training but had no idea what to do and felt really intimidated I hired a trainer. And it has been truly life changing. I still see my personal trainer regularly, but I also train on my own too and have confidence to squat, deadlift, bench, etc and feel like I belong. I never would have said that prior to starting to train with my trainer in October 2021. Thanks again, Mind Pump!

  18. USPS employees are heroes every day. As a postal employee, proud to hear the story.

  19. I m doing a 90 day challenge. Hopefully I won’t steal some chocolate almonds :p . Great content though as always

  20. Ima tell you now. Playing video games in moderation instead of mindlessly sweeping through shorts and reels is….just think about it. Games are interactive, often hard, and mentally engaging. [All in moderaion] wwwwaaay better than Netflixing or being on social media broski.

  21. I have definitely started observing more non-scale victories. Coming from someone who has based all of her progress off solely weight lost in previous health journeys it has always been for vanity, but switching gears has been amazing for me. Currently running aesthetic and I have gone up in so many of my lifts it’s so inspiring. I have a hard time with my protein so I do supplement. Touching on your thoughts on hunger/vs cravings I have a lot of food aversions and sometimes absolutely nothing sounds good at all. I want to be successful but it’s hard sometimes when you feel you cannot eat.

  22. Spending money for things you can do yourself was a huge argument in my house growing up coming from a farming and trades background. My dad was also anti credit. Took decades for me not to cringe paying someone else to do something I could do myself or even entertain the idea I could use credit to leverage an improved earning capacity. In the end it came down to a couple of things, if I could make more money by not doing it myself, if what else I could be doing was more important or was too enjoyable to pass up (at the end of the day what am I working for if I can't take time to enjoy it), and the idea I'm supporting the economy via local businesses. When it comes to budgeting I'd rather spend money at small local businesses and independent contractors like the ones my family were than buying disposable consumer goods from big multi nationals.

  23. Dips on the treadmill handles are an awesome alternative. Your arms have to be long enough and even so, you may think the handles are too wide at first. But man, the stretch you get on the chest from the wide angle is amazing. I do them weighted now and they’re the best chest exercise for me by far. The chest growth I get from weighted treadmill dips beats any kind of bench press, hands down. Give it a shot if you’ve never tried it.

  24. Here's some heat – Sal, I hope you realize that there are teams in schools that play video games for championships and scholarships. Those teams have coaches. I don't think you realize that gaming is not necessarily childish as it is selfish.

  25. “I sure can look at you like” 😂 OMG. I love you Sal you the best always making me laugh. You guys are amazing I am subscribed and following up on every video! Keep up the great work truly appreciate you guys!
