Thank You for demonstrating this! I can see a ladder in the background right next to your new hothouse structure … Is that for a future episode πππ Also, I purchased some 'more mature' plants from a 'Nursery' as my other seedlings are a little slow … And I found my colony of big grasshoppers which I just leave be as they don't do too much damage (usually), have eaten the leaves of my newly acquired plants and have all dropped dead at the base of the plants π€ I don't use any chemicals or sprays (I do have Eco-Oil & Eco-Fungicide but they've so far only been for my Orchid Collection – not my veggies!). I'm assuming that the 'Nursery'that mass produces these have sprayed the plants with something (I had been told the only thing that would kill the big daddy grasshoppers would be a product in a red container containing Carbaryl. This scares me … As it is toxic to humans! Given it took a few hours to kill them & they were writhing in pain before dying! Does this mean that any of the veggies I harvest from these plants are no longet 'organic'?
Hey Vasili, have you tried training your Zucchini's up the trellis or tying up in the same fashion as you do your Tomatoes? I've heard this is a great way to produce more fruit by being able to grow more plants per square meter. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts or experiences. Thanks for the videos and tips! Have successfully grown several 300mm long zucchinis from seeds purchased from the shop. Taste wonderful.
Excellent tip regarding pollination
Wondering if Yates vegetable dust also deters slugs & snails or just the caterpillars, aphids & fungus?
Was that an evil laugh? Poor zucchini.
I only have female zucchini flowers, how do I encourage the plant to produce some male ones.
Vasili – you are a legend – always wondered why my zucchinis failed – thank you
