    Ooh, that's super interesting! I'm always trying to compare prices between box stores here – HD is consistently cheaper for us, but I always have to go check out the plants at Lowes as well

    Good video Sapper and I agree with ya on Lowes, they definitely try to take care of veterans but my Lowes has stopped giving veteran discounts on many things, lumber and appliances to name a few, maybe it's just my local Lowes. I still shop at Lowes regardless because they have been good to me in the past!! Y'all have a good Wednesday evening my brother!! Dan

    Surprised to hear there is a cap on how much you can save at H.D.
    I like Lowes best because I think they are old woman friendly.
    I can always find help to get the products I need for projects.

    Hi Rob, When I lived in Maryland I lived near a lowes and a home depot, I use to shop at both depending on what I wanted. As a landscape owner I noticed Lowes hand tool selection was bigger and better quality. Power tools like string trimmers i went to Home depot. Chainsaws, again I thought Lowes selection was better. Lots of different things I preferred one store over the other. Sadly they closed the Lowes in Maryland I use to go to so I then got everything from HD.
    I was excited when I moved to Missouri and had a HD and a lowes near me, but then they closed the lowes, UHGGG.

    That is awesome Lowes supports veterans that way. I wish HD did because I like their tools better. I love the Ridgid Brand and also HD is in my town. Hopefully, they will make changes to that someday. We always ask for the teacher discount everywhere we go because the wife is a teacher. Nothing wrong with getting the maximum amount of savings you can get.

    It would make better sense to match a competitor’s benefit program. There aren’t that many veterans when compared to the general population. It might make sense to have a cap if one of the companies was selling more to commercial businesses, then it could really cut into a company’s profits if there were veteran owned businesses buying large quantities of product, but I’ve always understood that both stores cater more to homeowners. Interesting info! We don’t have either store on our small island.

    I too prefer Lowe’s and I have a couple friends who are veterans that have worked there for years and even after getting better job’s still continue to work at Lowes part time.
    There are some items that are only carried in one of stores or the other so I have picked up stuff at both, but mostly I am a Lowes girl. 👍🏻
