Not sure what we will have left in the hot tunnels after today guys. We really won’t know for a couple of days, but wanted to give you an update on how everything fared here in North Texas after this frigid air. Praying you all fared well.

  1. Oh man! Stay warm sister! Weve got relatives in Montana who are without power and it's minus 7 this morning. This is some storm. Here in southern Oregon were a nice warm 40 degrees. God bless you!

  2. Thankful y’all are safe and have power. Where we live in Northwest Houston it was 17 when we got up. It’s 28 now. Like you said, we still have so very much to be thankful for. So thankful we didn’t lose power too. Hope y’all have a wonderful Christmas.❤️✝️🙏🎄

  3. We warmed up to 8* wind chill -11, stronger winds coming in the afternoon. I haven’t ventured out to check the quail, just hoping the extra water and food and insulation kept them ok they can tolerate O* and sun is out! -NE Tn.

  4. Yes, we have much to be thankful for!! We have power, I have my faucets dripping, so far so good. Sorry all of yours didn't make it. I thank God for our new homeless center. God bless. Much love.

  5. Here in Oklahoma it's 9 degrees turned my water off yesterday after bath, and filled up buckets and it will stay off for a few days don't even attempt to grow things here in the winter I know our weather except garlic I can for the winter I am just glad our electricity has stayed on kept going off yesterday for short periods of time your chickens should eat well from dying plants stay warm God bless

  6. Thanks for all your prayers. I'm not going out to check on anything until it warms above freezing. From the comments it looks like the whole country is in this storm. I'm adding my prayers to all and hope we get through this without loss of life, The thought of people freezing in there homes is heart breaking. I hope everyone was prepared.

  7. Hey Jill, We're here in Oregon , We have Freezing Rain! Its 24* here earlier it was 19* Stay warm, Hang in there Prayers to you and your family.

  8. It got down to 12 degrees here in north Louisiana. I don't think the high is even going to be even at freezing level but I'm so thankful that it's clear and sunny! I hope y'all are able to recover your plants. I enjoy your channel. Very positive and warm caring vibes here!

  9. wow It is horrible to think someone froze to death in America… We have a broken system for sure. Enjoyed your video today. thank you

  10. North Lousiana. Our pipes, greenhouse and chickens are great. Now to make it through tonight and we will be ok. I’ll ck on all the plants that I covered with hay Monday. Love living in the South. We will be planting potatoes and green peas on Valentine’s Day. Starting our outdoor veggie plants at the end of January in the greenhouse. Very thankful to be blessed with a warm house. Merry Christmas, everyone.

  11. What does it mean that the collard greens will bounce back if they are frozen? My bok choy is frozen. Will it be edible when thawed?

  12. 55 up here this morning and raining. Dropping as I type, going down to teens so everything will turn to ice. 🥶 winds came through very early, some lost power. Ice is bad, but sun tomorrow. I'm hunkered. Glad you're ok.

  13. Still here in Arkansas, Ms Jill. We were -2. Wind chill of -30 early this morning. We have a layer of ice covered with a little snow. Wind is brutal. Still have power and thankful for a full pantry and heaters running to keep warm. Thanks for the update. Hopefully there won’t be as much damage to the crops in the high tunnels. Stay warm and safe travels if you venture out. God bless!

  14. My chickens would not even come out of the coop yesterday . Today they got out a little while .
We didn't have any added issues last night . Wednesday night did enough damage and we have enough to clean up and do on Monday . We decided to wait until after Christmas . It will be warmer then too so our old bodies can handle it while we work . I am just thankful to God that no person or animal was harmed when the shed went flying into the fence .

  15. Here in East Collin Co we got down to 8⁰ -14⁰ with windchill. Most of our critters were ok but our rooster did get some frostbite on his wattle. Now he's in the laundry room.

  16. We lost the last of our brassica in the greenhouse. I might try growing some in the spring.
We still have some pots of spinach and onions that we moved into the garage.
You might want to take a look at the expected lows towards the end of January. I think we might be getting some pretty cold weather again here in central Oklahoma.
I think our weather patterns have changed (not due to climate change) and we are going to have to change the way we garden.

  17. I am afraid all my plants that were in my Greenhouse may have frozen too. Although, I had a heater going in there it was not able to keep it above freezing with the temps reaching 5 degrees and feeling like -11. It got to 28 degrees in the greenhouse. So, I am just hoping for the best since it will be below freezing here for several nights. I did all I could do to save them, other than bring them all inside the house and I do not have enough room for that. Hope yours made it!

  18. Hi from Tyler, we have no hot water. So I have the water turned on. My friend thinks it’s the pipe from the hot water. I’m hoping to not have pipes burst like February 2021. We have cold water and kept our electricity on. Prayers for everyone.

  19. Our cows are okay. We had to let them in the barn. Our rooster has some problems though. Please pray for him. Everyone else is safe. PTL!

  20. We were 13 degrees this morning. It's the bitter wind that's doing damage. Everyone survived. Our Rooster Cogburn has a little frostbite on his comb. I'll be watching it closely. Husband has developed a severe cold. I'm dosing him and trying to keep inside until it warms up a little more. It did get to 30 degrees. Everyone is fed. We're bracing for tonight. We have power. Stay safe and warm Jill. Pray, Plan, Prep

  21. Those greens look like they'd make a very nice huge pot of yummy soup.

  22. KY here, we were -9 this morning, warmed up to -2 and now dropping again. The heaters kept our house at just above 59*F but no more than around 62*F all day. Chickens got food and water all day, and dog refused to go out to the bathroom, decided the floor was best as it was very cold out. No power outages here (praise God for that). My daughter works in security, could not come home so the place she worked put her in a hotel for free for the night. God has our backs for sure.

  23. I use mercury thermometer to register 23 degrees in Fort Worth today, earlier I tried to use electronic thermometer but it took so long to register accurate temperature!

  24. It’s -5 here in VA time 12-23-22 9:18pm
Chickens ok 👍🏻 great” you & family stay safe praying for y’all I know you doing the same 🙏

  25. We did alright even though we haven’t had water for over 24 hours. The landlords said someone would be out to thaw the pipes but so far no one has. We’ve had the heater, electric fireplace, and heat/ac unit up all day. Hubby went and got water for us so I was able to have some coffee and get the pile of dishes done. Just glad it wasn’t worse than it could of been. Those who are less fortunate really need to be thought of more. I hope they made it to the shelters. May the Lord keeps us safe and sound, warm and bound, wrapped in His grace and mercy, and tied with His love 🛐✝️💟
