Hello! My name is Bethany and I grow things in my rooftop container garden in Chicago, zone 6a. I’ve been container gardening for four years and am by no means an expert, just someone who enjoys sharing their garden journey.

In this video, I’m adding some more Spring flowers to my pots and sowing carrot seeds in my raised bed.

  1. Wow, the metal flower cart is going to be so cute in the garden. Love the color combo in the white rose planter…Spring vibes!

  2. Hi Bethany, Your flowers are so pretty. I love the little orange and purple ones. I call them Johnny Jump Ups and had some last year and plan to buy some for this year. I think my lavender plants got pulled out by puppy, Rosie so will have to get a couple more of them. Since Rosie pulled out so many along my path I think I will replace with pots this year and hope she does better at leaving them alone.. Your front porch pots are beautiful and I am sure cheers people who pass by. I planted my carrots some time ago but we got all that rain and they didn't germinate so about time for me to plant them again. I don't do well growing carrots but keep trying! Your new plant stand/ cart you ordered will look so cute on your balcony. My blueberry plants had buds so I covered them with a sheet the past two nights as it was suppose to be 29 one night and 32 another night. I am not covering them tonight as it is suppose to be 33 and hoping for the best. I was not thrilled to see the snow on the ground this morning!…….Nancy

  3. your flower containers are beautiful, wishing you great growth for carrots, they may take a while to sprout, so don't be upset if you don't see them up in a few days, for me its usually around two weeks for carrots to germinate.

  4. Found your channel yesterday and have already ordered the grow bags and some seeds. So excited! Love your channel. Thank you

  5. I’m up near Milwaukee and having similar weather. I wasn’t sure if I could plant those new flowers in case of some frost but they must be somewhat frost hardy? I’m still new at gardening and can’t tell how long I should wait regarding frosts…
