Today I want to take you on a walk through my school orchard. As a gardener and sustainability enthusiast this is my favourite place at our school. I will often use extra time and breaks to take the kids here to explore how it changes, this also lets me nerd out about plants and soil and compost!

I love teaching students about sustainability and seeing how things grow but also how we can then use them in our weekly cooking lessons, which have become the talk of the school.

  1. Oh Wow!! What an amazing orchard to have in a school.
Well done school community and grounds keeper.
Thank you for sharing your school with us Diane.
    Cheers Deb & Dan

  2. That is awesome – thanks for sharing. 🍓 The world will be a better the place the more kids learn how to grow their own food and share with community.

  3. Love school and community gardens. the orchard is excellent. Fejoa petals are like chewing juicy fruit chewing gum (old people will remember this). Uplifting vid – take care.

  4. Great use of food bags. I love the coup. Why can’t all schools do that. That is awesome. Great way to teach the kids. Love your school.
