Ideas for the garden and backyard: barbecue area! 30 ideas for inspiration!

The Americans believe that they invented the barbecue, although they admit that the Spanish conquistadors spied on the process of cooking meat on an open fire from the Peruvian Indians. However, the word barbecue or bbq itself is of English origin and translates as cooking over an open fire. In the middle of the twentieth century, a spherical grill-pot was invented, after which barbecue appeared and became fashionable. The brick barbecue oven has also become extremely popular.

When choosing a barbecue oven for a summer residence, you need to carefully weigh not only your needs, but also real possibilities. The choice will be significantly influenced by the following factors:
– Available area for barbecue. As a rule, the stove is installed on the site in front of the cottage or country house. However, the territory of the site can also be used for this purpose. The stove can even become part of the gazebo.
– Financial possibilities of the future owner of the barbecue. If you opt for a mobile option, then there are inexpensive portable or wheeled devices. A stationary stove made of brick or stone will cost much more. Especially if you have to turn to specialists for its construction.
– Product design. The stove, like the rest of the elements of the site, should look harmonious. The unified style of the house, the surrounding area and all the elements located on it is extremely important. Dissonance, not noticeable initially, can become seriously annoying over time.

When choosing, it is necessary to focus on the fuel on which the stove will operate. Existing models use bottled LPG, charcoal or electricity.

Basic principles for choosing the location of the furnace

Most often, the kitchen is considered a guideline for choosing a place. Its proximity is convenient in that you do not have to spend a lot of time transporting food and utensils to the oven. But there are other points to consider:
– The smoke from the stove can cause conflicts with neighbors, so you need to place a barbecue away from someone else’s site. – The installation of a stationary brazier under the crowns of trees is not allowed, because it is harmful for green spaces and from the point of view of fire safety, such a layout is a mess.
– When constructing a permanent structure, the most frequent wind direction must be taken into account. The flame must be covered from its gusts either by a wall or a protective screen. Choosing the right place will allow you to enjoy the results of your work without fear that you will have to redo everything.

  1. There are only three people we"ve known in 60 years of marriage that can afford and have these luxurious BBQ areas…..Do you have any designs for the average family BBQ area that are still clean. Well kept, useable space….not six inches on either side of the cooker to work on? We have a $399.00 Weber with a side ara to put all cooking platters etc to the right. Easy to clean flat top…great grill. But would love to design something around it and maybe above the side working area that would give shade and wouldn't break the bank….HELP….SURE we are not the only ones
